Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Payne.
Hi Michelle, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I started Living beautifully affordable home design and decor in 2015! Interior Design is a second career for me, I spent 15 years in the criminal Justice field, I returned to school at the Art Institute of Fort Worth in 2010 at the age of 36 to seek a new career in Interior Design one that I knew I had a great passion for. After four years of working full-time, with a young child and husband I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design, not an easy task but well worth it. I spent a short 6 months with a design firm before taking a huge risk to go out on my own to do residential design.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting your own business, I can’t imagine that would ever be a smooth road! Owning your own business is so amazing in many ways, you are your own boss “most Days”, flexible work schedule, job options, etc. but it is also hard work every day. Owning your own business is not always a steady check, you have to work all day every day to find ways to gain new clients and learn new skills to gain more work. Last year I added Real Estate to my resume as well. It’s been seven years since I started, and it has taken every day of those seven years with the help of family and friends to gain clientele, and I continue to work daily to grow my business.

Living Beautifully provides affordable residential and commercial design services, from full remodels to just interior decorating.
I can’t think of anything more fulfilling than being a part of someone’s home through my work. It is amazing to see the difference it can make in someone’s life when they have a space that they love.
Living Beautifully is built on a strong foundation of passion. A genuine desire to make a difference in the places you build your life.
Living Beautifully is a product of just that, beautiful living this is our story: I can create breathtaking spaces while staying within a client’s budget.
