Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
POP! Got started back in 2020, during the middle of the pandemic when lawn parties were in full swing! People were struggling to try and celebrate- and we saw a huge need to add light to dark times! What we thought would be a small “grab and go” type business, this literally popped into a full fledge installing and design adventure.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My best friend and I started POP! together. My husband is on call three out of four weekends a month, and hers was finishing up residency, so we thought this would be a fun “side” thing to pass the time and get our creative juices out. We always knew Fort Worth was probably not their forever home, but we still jumped head-first into this business. She has since gotten out of the pool (figuratively speaking), and I am now a solo business owner of this amazing little company. I’m so happy they have found their dream job and location, but navigating sole business ownership (emails, project management, design, execution, inventory) by myself has been a lot to adjust to. Losing your business partner (and bestie!) is for sure a struggle. Plus, the things we always dealt with together: balancing kids, husbands, life in general- it’s definitely a beautiful mess.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
POP! Fort Worth is a bespoke balloon company, and we specialize in organic balloon garlands and design. We’re known for our whimsical, bright, and light balloons that truly add joy to every event.
Besides how far POP! has come, what I’m truly most proud of, and what sets us apart from others, is our relationships and reputation in this community. We have had the pleasure of working with moms, businesses, politicians, artists- and everything in between! I would say we are known for our humility, dedication, and love for getting to know our clients. Caring about each install as if it were our own (and chatting our way through them said clients!) is what really makes this job (and this company) special.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The biggest thing to support this sweet little dream is honestly just kind words (online or word of mouth!) Balloons are a creative expression and their own form of art, which makes them a super subjective topic! Knowing we’re making pieces that bring a smile to your face or make you stop to say “wow”, is so motivating and a reassuring pat on the back. Support can be a like, a referral, or even just saying “hi!” if you see us out and about!
