Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Pando.
Hi Jennifer, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
After 13+ years as a professional photographer, the COVID Pandemic leads me to begin my new career in laser tattoo removal. I have always had a close affiliation with and knowledge of the tattoo industry and I took an interest in tattoo removal when I had my laser tattoo removal treatment done I was genuinely connected with the idea of wanting to know how the process worked along with how many people I could help if I began working in the industry.
I was fortunate enough to begin working as a laser technician at Denton Laser Tattoo Removal, located inside Dark Age Tattoo. Working within the removal industry I see an array of reasons people want to remove their tattoos it is to lighten an existing tattoo for a cover-up or rework or full removal remove unwanted names, stories, or emotional ties connected to the tattoo if it is a tattoo that was forced upon the client through human trafficking or gang relation, ex-partners names, symbols or quotes that clients just do not connect with as life has carried on and to just bad or regretful tattoos that the client no longer wants to live with.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say every road has its struggles but that is just a part of building a good business and clientele. I have been fortunate enough to work directly with several tattoo artists inside a well-known tattoo shop. The only struggle I have faced is when people see that I am a laser tattoo removal service located inside a tattoo shop. Many people see it as comical and fail to see how laser tattoo removal services go hand in hand with a tattoo shop, and not for the sake of the common question of “fixing the artist’s mistakes” or “they put it on and I take it off”.
Clients seeking removals or fading come in for a multitude of reasons and it’s incredibly convenient to be able to walk the client to the next room to chat with an artist about the realistic cover-up goals or vice versa for an artist to bring a client over to me to discuss options for tattoo fading to create more of a clean canvas allowing for artist flexibility for the tattoo of the client’s dreams.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in removing those unwanted tattoos! I am most proud of my accomplishments surrounding my personal and business morals and ethics and building trust within my clients that they continue to see me until they have reached their desired results. The connection I build with my clients is something that I am thankful for and I know many are thankful for as well. I like treating them as friends to build comfort in an uncomfortable situation.
I work in a tattoo studio full of world-renowned artists that I can work directly with for clients that are looking to fade existing work for a cover-up or rework, catering to their goals to ensure each client is getting the best experience from beginning to end.
What matters most to you?
My family matters the most to me. Time is incredibly fleeting and the time we spend with our loved ones should always be placed over anything else which is why having a great career should always line up with time and allowance for personal and family time to create balance.
