Meet Erika Salazar of Dream Catcher Spaces

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erika Salazar.

Hi Erika, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Erika Salazar a few years I moved to Tulum Mexico and started to do Caribbean real estate. Soon as I started I realized I needed more to represent my artistic abilities, and had always had an eye for interior design and decorating. I started dreamcatcher spaces an interior design firm that helps create the experience for vacation rentals. Everything bloomed pretty quickly then surprisingly I was invited to be part, of a reality show for HGTV HOGAR and Discovery Familia. Where 8 interior designers compete for 50,000 and their tv shows.

My goal is to bring awareness to women and especially as a Latina that you are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to without fear of the outcome and with dedication. I started at the young age of 16 as a hairstylist lived alone at the age of 17 and started making natural beauty products from my kitchen. Still, with that vision ill be launching my natural cosmetics while still working on dream catcher spaces.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it’s never such a smooth road, I think that’s the fun of the journey enjoying the ups and downs and learning from each experience. I packed my bags and left Dallas to find myself and it was a very lonely journey, but the outcome was so worth it.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We focus on finding an investment property in the Rivera Maya, that facilitates creating the experience for our clients. We work with local carpenters and artisans who help us create this very organic wholesome design and take the worry of our clients away since they are in a foreign country. We create kits for our clients like our appliance kit, and furnishing kit. We customize de design according to our client’s styles and help them achieve their dream vision. for their vacation rental.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I listen to a lot of podcasts, mostly self-help and psychology. In Mexico, I did a lot of my indigenous traditional ceremonies like Temazcal, and cacao ceremonies. Not with any drugs just types of ceremonies that lead you to connect with yourself and your roots, this has done a lot for me throughout my journey.
