Life & Work with Christina Heath

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Heath.

Hi Christina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Where do I begin? Everyone has a story. Mine starts with not the best beginning, but I am hopeful and excited about where it’s headed now.

I was raised by my wonderful grandmother who fed me the compliments and love to be the woman I am today. My maternal mother was mentally and physically abusive, while my father was non-existent. I married young at just 20 years old in 2009 with the goal of building the life I’ve always dreamed of. The marriage was good for me, it developed me to become independent. It gave me the support I needed as I grew into womanhood, but unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to last. I was divorced in 2020 during the worst and best of my life.

With a failing marriage, I lost all confidence and hope but regained that quickly through bodybuilding. My career in bodybuilding began in 2019 during the height of a struggling marriage. I was able to focus my attention on what I actually had control over… myself.

I always played it safe my whole life, with the fear of letting myself and others down. A defensive mechanism I developed over the years starting early in childhood. So, stepping on a stage full of judgement and open criticism was not something that came easy to me. But it needed to happen. I needed SOMETHING. No kids, no family, and later no partner to cheer me on, I needed this for ME.

That experience did something to me. It changed my whole entire mindset and self-confidence. It changed the trajectory of my life. The self-limiting beliefs were diminished instantly after winning multiple shows, and especially after earning my Pro card status as an IFBB Bikini Professional Athlete during my divorce. My self-love grew, I became happier, and found not only my passion but my true purpose.

I worked as a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist and started coaching on the side as I learned more about nutrition through my own prep. I wanted all women to feel that joy and pride in their potential. My career in healthcare soon became just a “job”, and I decided not to play it safe anymore. With the support of my amazing boyfriend, I decided to team up with him full-time, and go all in with weight loss coaching. I became a full-time coach this year in July. I have a heart to care for others and wanted so badly to make an immediate difference not just for 1 person, but for the whole family. With coaching, I can impact a community, I can impact the world.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely has not been easy for me. All the “success” I’ve ever experienced had to be earned. Growing up with no “real parents” left me feeling unwanted and abandoned. It naturally made me grow to become a “perfectionist” in many aspects of life. Not a good thing… But I learned to use this trait in my favor, to become better and stronger mentally and physically as I sought healing.

Also, the hardship of divorce is never easy to go through. Living on my own for the first time in my whole life, I had to relearn who I was, and what my purpose was. But again, I used that obstacle as motivation to find the happiness I knew I deserved.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Online Health and Fitness Coach with my Boyfriend’s business “Beyond Failure Fitness”.

We specialize in weight loss and lifestyle changes leading to sustainable results. We give our clients 110% each day. Constant communication helps us identify the root cause of self-limiting beliefs and thought patterns/habits. We work individually with each client, to change daily behaviors as we make physical and mental progress. Reaching a weight loss goal is not the only benefit from our coaching services. We also provide lessons, live zooms, resources, content to help not only keep the clients engaged, but educated as well.

What are your plans for the future?
My plans for my future involve continuing growing to become the best coach I can be while also grinding to help the business grow even more. Working alongside the love of my life has been fulfilling for me in so many ways. I can’t wait to see the potential we will unleash together.

I still compete as a Professional sponsored athlete, and my heart thrives in competing in a couple of IFBB shows each year.

Just like my previous vision, I never knew the life I have now was possible. So, I will continue to stay open-minded to what’s truly in store for me.
