Meet Darrion Castillo of Before The Blowup

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darrion Castillo.

Hi Darrion, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started out wanting to pursue a career as a recording artist, so I enrolled in a recording arts program, and it was there that I actually grew a passion for shining a light on amazing talent and building a community for creatives to expand their network.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has definitely been bumpy with MANY hills and valleys! I think the biggest struggles with becoming a dedicated entrepreneur is finding and building a dedicated team, and just figuring out where to start. I have been truly blessed to have the support from a few great people. The team is growing, but I really have to be selective which takes time, it slowed me down but didn’t stop me and it never will! I actually appreciate the process; it has grown me in more ways than one.

I have so many ways I would love to serve that it was almost impossible to find a place to start and it didn’t help that I felt unqualified because I was not and will NEVER be perfect! I had a choice to let my insecurities stop me, or keep going and I chose to keep going, to fight my insecurities and love where I was on my journey to success. My motto has become “It don’t have to be perfect but it’s gotta get done!”

We’ve been impressed with Before The Blowup, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Before The Blowup is a space created to shine a light on amazing talent BEFORE THE BLOWUP and build a community for creatives to expand their network! We provide services like music business classes and we host networking events, showcases, and more.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is overcoming struggles and being in a position to help others do the same.
