Life & Work with Chaudwick Dingus-Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chaudwick Dingus-Williams.

Hi Chaudwick, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
This all started in Irving, Texas. I was born in Parkland hospital. My moma raised me by herself. We spent a lot of time in church, where I began to explore what it was like to perform in front of people. As I got older, I chose to be an athlete, played football, basketball, and ran track. After high school, I went to college and graduated with a bachelor’s in Psychology. After college, I moved to Los Angeles and started a record label. There’s a lot of story in between but that’s the short version.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not,…there’s always struggles that affect our journey. For me, my struggle is balancing personal life, business, and all the chaos in between. I like to do everything myself and sometimes it’s overwhelming and I need help but asking for it is another story.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m an artist I’ve been recording, mixing and mastering, and distributing music since I was 14. I’m a teacher, a student, an active father. I’ve worked in education for 4 years and mental health for a decade. I’m most proud of being a father and not just that, but an active, engaged, conscious father.

The thing that sets me apart from others is my perseverance, I’ve been knocked down so many times, I’ve lost count. I’ve made mistakes and nearly ruined my own future but I’m still here. More importantly, I know my purpose and I’m aware of my gifts which makes me confident and unstoppable.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice is to be a student. Learn all you can. Be a lifelong learner…

I wish I had been more aware of the time I was wasting. Don’t waste your time folks.
