Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ PRE$STIGE.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
DJ PRE$STIGE, founder of Superior Heights Entertainment (S.H.E.), LLC & Prestige Wealth Worldwide, LLC.
Native of Houston, TX. Graduated from the Prestigious Institution Morehouse College & Georgia Tech. Always had a love for music from singing to dancing throughout my life. Found my passion for DJing about 8 years ago transitioning from GA to LA for work. It’s been an exciting journey with just completing a 30+ city tour with Rod Wave and opening up for Benny the Butcher tour in Austin, TX.
I joined the #1 DJ Coalition, Fleet DJs Worldwide in 2017. Currently, the Southwest Regional Manager which includes Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Louisiana with over 90 active DJs, Producers, Influencers, etc…Since my 6th month with Fleet I’ve held a leadership position, initially Southern Ohio Manager. I was on a weekly rotation on 15 different music platforms from FM to Internet Radio Stations prior to going on tour.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
If the road was easy everyone would do it. Success is a journey, not a destination. The road hasn’t been smooth by no means. I often tell people I’ve been DJing 8 years, and I’ve retired 8 years. This journey has reiterated things I’ve known such as the importance of relationships, hard work, and consistency.
Some struggles include people not wanting to book me or give me an opportunity. In addition, the lack of professionalism and communication when it comes to the basics of business. I’ve been in the corporate environment for several years, so it was disappointing when faced with these struggles. The biggest obstacles were the battle between the ears: self-doubt, should I be doing this, etc…
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I describe myself as a Corporate Entrepreneur. The area of expertise would be in entertainment and provide a disc jockey service that allows people to escape their everyday reality. Music has been therapeutic for my whole life. It’s only right I give my gift back to people to help them deal with whatever they may be going through. This is the entrepreneurial aspect of my business.
People know me for being everywhere and never not working. Recently coming off a 30-plus city tour with Rod Wave across the United States is a proud accomplishment. An experience many DJs don’t get to experience. In 2019, I received Mixshow of the Year.
The work ethic and practicality of my approach is what sets me apart from others. I believe everyone can eat and there is no need for Big Is and little U’s. My professionalism, follow-up, and execution is what separates me from many others. I’m a firm believer in providing great customer service. Lastly, communication and holding myself accountable is a driver for me. No one will outwork me.
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
God is the captain of this ship so ensuring I’m walking in his guidance is important. Providing a legacy for my family is important to me as well. The freedom and flexibility to leave my job and continuing building this empire is important. Helping people see their true potential and putting them in positions to win.
