Rising Stars: Meet Lauren Morgeson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Morgeson.

Hi Lauren, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started in the beauty industry as a spray tan technician for a small, locally-owned spray tan salon when I was 17. From there, my love for the beauty industry grew tremendously. After I moved to another city, I started my own makeup line since I was too far from the salon to spray tan anymore – it kept me in the beauty industry. Then after having different jobs over the years, I still had so much love for spray tanning. So, in the end of 2019, after having my first baby, I started my own airbrush tanning brand. Being a stay-at-home mom and spraying when I could. After business picked up, I ended up creating my own she shed, called the Bronzed Bungalow, in my backyard, so I no longer had to be mobile or rent from a salon space anymore. Still being a stay-at-home mom and spraying when my fiancé got home, it got busy but also lonely. My bungalow was just me and my clients, I missed the salon atmosphere, so that’s when I decided to finally pursue my dream of owning a salon with different beauty service providers. In November of 2021, I started looking for spaces, it didn’t take long to find the perfect spot. We got the keys November 15th and busted our butts to get the salon open by December 1st. Then Dallas Beauty Bar was born🎉

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not. I’ve lost friends along the way, had to lose time with my family, believe in myself and my dream when some didn’t. But out of all the struggles nothing pushed me more than when the people who believed in me said that I could do this. That kept me going more than the people telling me not to.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Whereas this article is about the Dallas Beauty Bar, it wouldn’t be possible without my first baby, Lumiere Luxe Tans, that some formerly known as Bronzed Babez. I specialize in spray tanning and teeth whitening with my brand LLT. I feel like being a what you could call a salon suite owner makes it different when I am there just as much as my girls because I am also a part of the team.

This is what sets me apart from others. I understand their struggles, I try and help with any advice I have, support them not only mentally, but I will always be there for my girls when they need a hug/shoulder to cry on. I am always there for them and will always be there for them. Other than family, there’s nothing else that means more to me than making sure all my girls are good, and I feel like anyone that has been a part of my team or, firsthand to see it knows that. THAT is what makes Dallas Beauty Bar different and always will. I’m not a distant owner; I am here and a part of your life because I care about my team and love them so much.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Relatable. I feel like being relatable is most important. There are so many people that start salons/salon suites for the money and don’t even know what it’s like to first handily be in this industry and have nothing to relate to their tenants. I will always understand the struggles and have advice because where they are I probably have been before too.
