Conversations with Rob Vargas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rob Vargas.

Hi Rob, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I guess you could say it all started before I was born. Both parents being into music, my father having his own band, and my mother being a songwriter. I’m confident that the love for music flows through my blood, probably an addiction. I first learned I had a niche for music around 97-98. My older brother’s friend GRIZZ (Jeff Montanya) introduced me to DJing which lead to Producing, which then lead to engineering. Engineering has been my strong point in meeting some of Hip Hops’ biggest artist to what I feel is most important, my best friend Pip (Justin Pipkins) and a lot of my other friends whom I consider family.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
To be successful, you must fail more than you win so the road I’ve traveled has been anything but smooth. I feel like listing my struggles would be complaining and I can’t complain about the path God put in front of me.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m one-third of HealthyHabitz a production team based here in Dallas Texas. We have a Producer, a songwriter, and I the engineer. We all produce, engineer, and write songs but we know each other’s strong points, so we stay in our own lane and that’s why this team works so well together.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Honestly, I’m an open book plus my circle is small so everyone knows everything.
