Today we’d like to introduce you to Susan Sigler.
Hi Susan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
Our names are Steven and Susan Sigler. Steve was raised in the Argyle area and Susan moved from Amarillo to the DFW area in 1992. Steve has an extensive background in information technology and insurance regulation. Susan has a background in education and sales and marketing.
We have been customers of Card My Yard for many years! We used them to celebrate our sons’ graduations and birthdays. We also used them when our oldest son came home from Kuwait while serving in the Air Force. And most recently, we celebrated gender reveals as we expected our two granddaughters, one in 2020 and the other in 2022! After experiencing the joy and excitement as customers, we knew it was an amazing opportunity to spread joy and bring people together!
Card My Yard is the original yard greeting service based in Austin, Texas, specializing in making big days even BIGGER. It was founded by Amy Arnold and Jessica Stanley in October 2014 with a simple goal to serve families and to make a positive impact in the community as small business owners. Now with 500 franchises across the nation, Card My Yard is truly bringing JOY to communities all over!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As with any new small business trying to grow, there are challenges. After owning other small businesses in the past, we have learned that challenges are really opportunities to learn how to do better and be better. So we embrace challenge! We have grown steadily by developing relationships with families, schools, businesses, and other organizations in the community. We treat our customers the way we would want to be treated with clear communication, quality design, professional installation, and even flexibility if there are changes in the event!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Card My Yard is a sign rental company! We can say anything from “Happy Birthday”, “Congrats” to a graduate, “Welcome Home”! We can literally SAY ANYTHING! We typically place signs in yards, but we have also done indoor events! Customers place their order online on our website. When we receive the order, we work with our customers to learn about the special person or event. From there, we design the Card My Yard sign with the colors and graphics to complement the occasion. We are known for working to ensure the sign is perfectly personalized with colors and graphics!
We have gotten so much amazing feedback from our customers!

What matters most to you?
Bringing people together is what matters most to us! It’s important to make memories and lift up the people in our lives because you can’t get that time back! When our boys were young, we taught them about having an emotional bank account. We told them that kind words and actions are deposits into the heart of others. Showing people you care about their birthday, a new baby coming, a graduation, a new home, or any other life event helps make a deposit into their heart. And brings people together! We even work with businesses to show appreciation to staff, recognize milestones and help celebrate events in the community and at schools. Our favorite part is hearing stories about the surprise and joy the recipient felt. It’s so heartwarming! The recipients feel truly celebrated!
We have been serving the Coppell and Valley Ranch areas since June of 2021 and we are so grateful to be in a business where we SPREAD JOY!
