Check Out Tiffany Velasquez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Velasquez.

Hi Tiffany, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve been a creator all my life. I was a little girl, maybe 10 or 11 years old, sitting in the living room at a sewing machine, making pillowcases, purses from Kool-Aid pouches, and anything I could figure out how to sew. I was also an avid drawer growing up. I always kept journals full of drawings. Art in any form has always been a go-to for me. As I grew up, all of my creative passion followed me.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No road is ever smooth. I enrolled in the Art Institute of Dallas when I was barely 18. I quickly discovered that wasn’t for me, and I wasn’t in the right headspace to focus the way I needed to. I even stopped sewing for several years. My painting style also isn’t for everyone. I often use bright, bold colors, and sometimes people just don’t vibe with it, and that’s okay.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
The name of my business is Boutique De Todo. In English, that translates to Boutique Of Everything. I chose that name because my creativity is endless, and I wanted to offer a little bit of everything. I provide photography services and custom art pieces. I make clothing, bows, jewelry, desserts, and much more. I’m open to any creative project: furniture restoration, party planning, home design, DE TODO. If I don’t know how to do it, I’ll figure it out. One thing I’m looking forward to honing in on is my photography skills. I want to get into birth photography and photography in general. Additionally, I own and operate a yoga business called Clan Mother Yoga. I’m currently working on my second 200-hour yoga certification. I’m certified in Yoga For BJJ and Thai Bodywork.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
One thing I love to do is follow people on social media who genuinely inspire me. Engaging with those people on social media and begin building a rapport is a great place to start. Reaching out to people in positions you want to be in is also beneficial. Don’t be scared to put yourself out there, either. The answer is always no if you don’t ask.
