Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Nicole Eastman.
Hi Dr. Eastman, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in St. Clair Shores, MI.
I earned my B.S. in Psychology from Wayne State University.
I worked as an AFAA-Certified Group Fitness Instructor and ACE and NASM-Certified Personal Trainer prior to and during medical school.
I graduated from Medical School as. a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010.
2 Weeks after I was married and at the start of my career in medicine, I was hit by a semi-truck at 65 mph. I was where I was at the time of my accident due to speaking up against abuse in medicine the first of two times.
Part of my journey included moving out of the country to the same island where my husband and I had our destination wedding.
We moved to Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands in August 2012 when I was 6 months pregnant with our son.
While living in Cayman, I continued my journey of healing and rehabilitation and navigated 2 medical-legal cases while becoming a mom to two beautiful children, now 10 and 7 years old.
While living in Cayman, the Michigan Attorney General’s Office flew me to Michigan to testify against my former Medical School Dean, William Strampel.
During the last 2 1/2 years of our ex-pat life in Cayman, my family and I were exposed to black mold in 2 consecutive homes and a hotel, which left us sick and homeless.
We repatriated back to the United States in 2020.
We lived in Florida for the first half of 2020.
My husband’s work with Dallas ISD led us to Frisco, Texas, in July 2020.
When my daughter started Kindergarten, I started my North Texas business.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have had a very hard and transformative life journey. I have experienced extensive loss, pain, and hardship.
I was hit by a semi-truck at 65 mph on 12/15/2010 after speaking out against abuse in medicine the first of two times. Every single aspect of my life was affected, and I experienced physical and psychological pain. I chose a journey of healing, which spanned over a decade. My healing was complicated by the fact that I have a genetic connective tissue disorder called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome/Hypermobility Sydrome.

I lived outside of the country for 7 1/2 years in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (UK territory).
While living in Grand Cayman, I testified in a Michigan court of law against my former Michigan State University Medical School Dean, William Strampel. He was also the boss to Larry Nassar at MSU. I was public nationally and internationally with my experiences.

My family and I were exposed to black mold in 2 consecutive homes and a hotel in Grand Cayman (over a 2 1/2-year period of time), which made us sick. We lost everything we owned and were homeless.
My kids and I lived nomadically in Florida for a month after repatriating back to the U.S. until my husband rejoined us.
We got settled into Jacksonville, Florida (February 2020) and then everything shut down due to COVID. My husband then lost his job, which was what brought us to Jacksonville, Florida.
My husband then took a job with Dallas ISD, which brought us to Frisco, Texas.
