Today we’d like to introduce you to Tenaya Wright-Falls.
Hi Tenaya, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
My story starts here in Dallas, TX. I started doing hair when I was 14 due to being bullied for my big chop that o did in 9th grade to go natural. I was so embarrassed every day to even go to school so one day I watched YouTube and bought braiding hair and started to braid my hair it was sooo short so it was definitely a challenge, but I got it done. From that point forward I started doing my sister and mother’s hair and my business took off from there. I’m now the CEO/OWNER of Slayedbyshunta & SlayedcosmeticsLLC. Slayedbyshunta is a business that offers many braided & loc styles as well as cosmetic products/accessories. My talent and customer service sets me apart from anyone else in my field of practice.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I started braiding 5+ years ago at the age of 14 was it easy? Most definitely not it was a struggle building clientele in my city, but I got it done in a great period of time. I want the world to know that my business is only going to go up and I have so much in store for 2023.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Slayedbyshunta?
