Today we’d like to introduce you to Promise Egbulefu.
Hi Promise, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My name is Promise Egbulefu, the Founder & CEO of Mantaro, a global luxe fashion brand, subsidiary of Copeel Global. I studied Geology & Exploration Geophysics. The reason I applied to study Geosciences was that I wanted to work for sustainability. Sustainability has been the guiding force in my life from early on. So, we are committed to making Fashion products that are sustainable.
The significance of the name Mantaro is that Being like water allows us to incorporate fluidity and naturalness in life, bringing us closer to our essential flowing nature and our ability to be powerful, self-expressed, and free.
Core Values
Build the best product. Our criteria for the best product rests on function, repairability, and, foremost, durability. Among the most direct ways we can limit ecological impacts is with goods that last for generations or can be recycled so the materials in them remain in use. Making the best product matters for saving the planet.
At Mantaro our core values are found in four simple terms: beauty, clarity, functionality, and sustainability. The secret to Mantaro success has largely being driven by its ability to keep up with rapidly changing fashion trends and showcase it in its collections with very little delay. The brand keeps a close watch on how fashion is changing and evolving every day across the world.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Recently, competition has increased in all sectors, especially in fashion industry. This is a challenge, so we invest a lot in marketing because we make unique products and people needs to know what we are doing.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
There has been a phenomenal shift in the global spaces of music, art, and fashion, and African artistes, creators, and designers have positioned themselves as key players in these various niches. One of such shifts happened in fashion and propelled homegrown brands to the forefront.
We at Mantaro have been able to understand the business of fashion and turn creativity and unique sense of style into a reputable, fast-growing business. Quality, authenticity, innovation, and craftsmanship have separated the Mantaro brand from the crowd.
How do you define success?
Success can be explained to mean the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. But one thing I must point out is that “there is a thin line between success and failure”
