Hi Abu, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I came up from the trenches of Information Technology and moved up the ladder to a leadership role at a global company. I have more than 20 years of diverse industry experience. But in 2016, I decided to leave my corporate career behind and start my own company.
Cybersecurity is a big problem! The cost of cybercrime to global businesses in 2022 was over $1 Trillion and it’s getting worse over time. I founded Zartech with a mission to help organizations improve their cybersecurity defenses, and I couldn’t be more proud and enthusiastic about the work we do to help organizations reduce their cyber risk and thrive into the future.
I’m humbled and honored to be on the 2021 Forbes Next 1000 list which recognizes America’s top innovators and inspiring small business leaders from all backgrounds and industries who are redefining what it means to build and run a business. Forbes’ recognition of the Zartech team and many other thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and disruptors in the “Enterprise Technology” category is a testament to the fast-paced innovation that’s reshaping information security.
I’m also fortunate to partner with thirteen security and risk management professionals to publish a book to share our ‘tips of the trade’ with those who want to accelerate their paths in these fields. The book is called ‘The CISO Mentor’ and is a ‘must-read’ for cyber and risk professionals that fulfill a daily crucial, global mission, and compete in one of the most intense careers in the world.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Entrepreneurship is really hard – building our business for the last 5 years has brought me the highest highs and the lowest lows. We are a bootstrapped company, so for us it has been really tough, but we never gave up. With the end goal in mind, we keep pushing forward, and build momentum each day. We are already seeing the big differences that we are able to make in this space.

With our decades of technology and security experience, we built an innovative cybersecurity solution called Cyberator that helps organization improve their cyber security defenses, reduce business risk, and meet regulatory compliance needs.
Organization are flying blind on cybersecurity and it leaves them struggling to prevent cyber-attacks. Our solution gives them a 360° view of their entire cyber risk exposure and then helps manage and reduce it to an acceptable level. Cyberator leverages its intelligence in merging and mapping cybersecurity frameworks against the existing and future posture of the organization and is able to identify unaddressed cyber risks. Based on it, the solution provides a prioritized remediation plan to address the gaps.
What matters most to you?
It gives me great satisfaction to be able to help organizations prevent cyber-attacks and stay in business. With our new startup we have been able to bring new jobs to north Texas.
