Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Shockey.
Hi Aaron, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Yes, I was playing college football and when that was over, I transferred to The University of North Texas to finish my degree. This was a confusing time for me with what direction I wanted to go in life. I was getting my business degree but did not have any intentions on ever working for someone. I have always had an entrepreneurial mindset and wanted to create something for myself. With that being said I did not know what to do so I decided to work on my real estate license my last year in college, finally getting my license during my final semester of college. I had solid success at first and had a few closings before graduating. After graduation that summer, business slowed down and I really realized sales were harder than I thought it was going to be. I had to change the way I did things and operated to get clients and ultimately sold deals. I credit a work ethic for my success. I was instilled at an early age that if there is a job to get done, you grind it out and get it done. I watched my grandpa and my dad work countless hours to provide and create a standard on how to work; working is in my blood. Partner that with my mentor and Broker Rogers Healy work ethic and watching him in the office every day work and grind, I found my 2nd home quickly becoming the office and this is where I spend most of my time even today. I believe time is compounding so the more time you put into something and the more hours, the more you will get out of that something. I credit time I have spent working in my line of business as a direct correlation to my success. I am not afraid to out work or put in more time than anyone.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. I have had to adjust several different times in my career. First struggles were how do I get clients and how do I continue to stay busy with clients. Early on you may have one person you are working with and nothing else; the struggle was how do I become busy and continue to create new business. Another challenge is the changing real estate market during Covid through 2021 we saw historic interest rates creating a frenzy and the crazy offers to today we are seeing a correction in the market and juggling this and finding new ways to market properties, put yourself in front of potential clients, and separate yourself from the other 70,000 agents in DFW alone. Sales is never a smooth road, there are a lot of No’s and roadblocks, but it is all about adjusting and finding a detour to take to the road of success.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I run The Aaron Shockey Group at Rogers Healy and Associates. I am a top 5 agent at THE largest Independently owned real estate brokerages in Texas with over 600 agents.
I help buyers and sellers across DFW and The State of Texas with their real estate needs whether the are looking to buy, sell, lease residential or commercial real estate.
What sets me apart of the competition or others is my market knowledge. I have a business degree and help buyers and sellers look at their purchase or sale more so as a next-level investment play instead of just opening doors and writing offers or listing homes. I like to help my clients make a real estate play and set themselves up for future success and own their piece of Texas as they see their equity to continue to rise and set them up with a solid future. I consider myself one of the top real estate experts in DFW and have market knowledge in all price points with 2022 having listings as high as 13,000,000 and as low as 225,000 my reach is across all price points and markets.
I am most proud of the growth and strategically positioning myself to continue to grow and provide more knowledge to clients every day as my brand grows and continue to gain market share in DFW.
I want you to know I am here for you 24/7 no matter what the price point is or where it is. My team and I are here to help with ALL of your real estate needs.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
DFW has positioned itself to become a top 3 market in the country in the next 5-10 years. I see no signs of the migration of people or businesses moving to DFW anytime soon. Texas is completely taking over and for good reason. I preach to clients and potential clients to grab their piece of Texas now while it is still cheaper because we will continue to ride out the cycles of real estate and see constant rise in prices and growth.
