Community Highlights: Meet Krishna Shorty of Flow-n-Nature

Today we’d like to introduce you to Krishna Shorty.

Hi Krishna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
The owner of Kosmic Tea learned to heal and live her life in a higher vibration through Tea and Yoga; with her experiencing and knowing the importance of the two the ideal of Flow-n-Nature manifested. Flow-N-Nature was created to bring love, light, and a space for individuals to come relax and release any tension or unnecessary energy. What sets us apart is that we are building a yoga community in an area that is rapidly growing, yoga classes can be expensive, but we wanted to create an affordable experience that any and everyone could practice no matter their level, size, gender, or race and we wanted this space to be in Oakcliff specifically in Nature. We have had a few proud moments in our first 4 months, we’ve have had people of all ages express how it helped them physically, mentally, and spiritually, we have had people cry expressing gratitude of feeling accepted in our space. The amount of growth we have seen in 4 months has also made us proud and motivated us to keep going and growing. Flow-N-Nature was not as difficult to start due to it being a part of the Kosmic Tea brand, they go hand and hand. Building a yoga community was always the plan, so just knowing it was suppose to happen made it easier. We just want everyone to know that Flow-N-Nature is a space for everyone and if you are ever in the Oakcliff area make sure to grab some Tea and flow with us every Sunday at 10 am in Oakcliff Founders Park (facing the skyline) we cannot wait to meet you!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We would say it’s been a smooth road; we grew and continue to grow organically. In the beginning, we had no idea who would show, and literally every class has been filled with beautiful people and we are forever grateful. Our team believes if we continue to be our authentic selves, we will grow more and more each class. Our goal is to build a family and that’s what keeps us flowing and growing.

As you know, we’re big fans of Flow-n-Nature. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Flow N Nature is a community-based yoga organization, a subsidiary of Kosmic Tea founded and owned by Krishna Shorty. Our goal is to encourage mindfulness in the form of yoga and create community through the practice. Outside of the winter months, we gather outside in the park at Oak Cliff to reap the benefits of the earth, sun, and downtown Dallas skyline. We are most proud of offering donation-based practice with dynamic teachers and wellness entrepreneurs from across the metroplex. We want readers to know that yoga is for everyone and everybody and that flowing through yoga postures in nature is a special way to connect to yourself and your community.

What sets us apart is our ability to build & foster relationships with our students as well as living to make positive progressive impact. We have a lot of first-timers that grow into regulars and have adopted us to our family. We have OG (Original students) that have been with us since our very first class and we have become part of many groups’ social calendars. We have students that invite friends and family and repost on their social media to come along with them to our classes. We’ve even had students join us in helping give back to our community and join us in those efforts.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
It is most important to be a genuine authentic team. A group of individuals that really care about the community and are passionate about the growth within our community.

That is success!
