Today we’d like to introduce you to Hannah Hutter.
Hi Hannah, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I began my journey and opened my business when I was 19 years old. I’ve always had a passion for people and capturing moments so pursuing a career in photography just made sense. I come from a pretty small town in Upstate NY where the community really is so supportive of local women-owned businesses. I truly believe the network of people I had around me at the time played a huge factor in the success I have had in growing my brand. Not to mention the glowing reviews and word of mouth from my clients. I definitely would not be where I am today without my past clients and return clients that I have had the pleasure of working with over and over again.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I look back at the last almost 7 years and it all feels like a blur to be honest. I remember the first couple of years being really hard. It was like a constant battle between my head and my heart to keep moving forward and pursuing my dream. Some of the biggest struggles I’ve faced would be fighting burnout and comparison. Because social media is used as each person’s own little highlight reel it was really easy to believe everyone was more successful, more popular, and more booked than I was. But by building genuine connections and having vulnerable conversations with fellow creatives over the years, I was able to overcome a lot of those heavy thoughts and just create art and show up authentically as myself for my clients.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Initially, I really only took on clients for senior portraits, couples’ portraits, and small family portraits. As I ventured more into the industry, I found my love for shooting weddings. I love the entire process of being a wedding photographer. From the initial consult with my brides all the way to the end of a wedding day, it is such an honor to be the one capturing such a special day. In the beginning of 2019, I began working with local brands to create curated content that made their brand stand out from other brands in the same industry. Since then, brand photography has become one of the signature services I offer. I am known for my clean, bright aesthetic. The excellent experience and relationship I establish with my clients is what sets me apart for sure. Being able to serve and love people through my job is such a privilege and something I will always value most.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I do not believe luck has played any role in my life or business. I believe all of my success and every blessing and opportunity I have been given has been a gift from God. I thank Jesus every single day for the amazing life and career He has given me. I know there is no way I would be where I am today without Him.
