Hi Vickie, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
After my daughter graduated high school and we moved her off to college I found myself very board and sad with nothing to keep me busy even though I own another business called Starr Graphic Designs. I was up one night scrolling on Instagram and came across other people making and decorating beautiful detailed sugar cookies. Decided I was going to try this because I liked to bake. So, after many many trials and errors with recipes I found and tweaked one that would work for me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to making Momma P’s Cookie Co come to life had a few bumps in it. From making sure the cookies recipes taste great to learning how to make royal icing, dealing with the humidity and that affects the icing, the consistency of the icing, and making sure customers can eat it. Learning how to flood cookies to the detail work.

Momma P’s Cookie Co started 4 years ago which is a home baker business and I follow the Texas Cottage food laws in Texas. I specialize in custom-decorated sugar cookies for any occasion. I am most known for my other business that I have had since 1997 Starr Graphic Designs we make banners, signs, and custom shirts. I am most proud of how far I have come and the support my family gives me. I don’t look at myself that I am set apart from others. Everyone has to start somewhere and we are all learning every day,
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
My goals for 2023 are to eventually offer cookie classes where I teach others how to decorate cookies.
