Community Highlights: Meet Jairus Pascale of Mythic Panda Studios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jairus Pascale.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Rottweiler Records started almost 13 years ago in Indiana. The original owner, Shawn Browning, wanted to create a music label that had roots in the underground punk through extreme metal scene. For years he did just that. In the early part of 2022, he reached out to me and my music/film production company Mythic Panda (based here in North Dallas) to see if we would be willing to acquire Rottweiler Records and take into the next level of success. Now at the time, Mythic Panda had started to sign bands as an upcoming record label. Once Rottweiler was acquired, my team and I immediately went to work in rebuilding the label and brand. For the rest of 2022, we spent time recording some of the new bands in our north-of-Dallas music studio, Mythic Panda Studios, signing new bands, and expanding the reach of our label and our studio presence. In the process, we have revamped the Mythic Panda Records music label, and currently, that label has a Norwegian band called Hrada and a local Dallas band called Sage Graye on it. Those Mythic Panda Records artists will be debuting worldwide very shortly here in 2023.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
With any business, there’re smooth roads and rough roads and many times you don’t get a choice which one you drive. For the most part, we are starting anew with Rottweiler Records. My team and I have had to treat the rebuilding as truly a startup. From dealing with the city with studio, all the way to booking new shows here in DFW, there’s been challenges. These challenges we’re met head-on without looking back. We want to help in continuing to establish DFW as great music city for all bands.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Mythic Panda Studios is the parent company of both Rottweiler Records and Mythic Panda Records. We are a professional audio recording studio that also provides video production services in the areas of music videos and some web promotional content.

We are here to partner with bands/music artists, v/o actors, audiobook narrators, sounds designers, podcasters, and all kinds of content creators in producing their work in a professional setting with phenomenal results.

One point for our company is that was seek to create new exciting music culture, not just reinforce a current one. How we do that in the music business is that we meet each band/artist where they’re at and plan our business partnership around them for their individual growth as both artists and businesspeople alike. This pertains to touring artists, studio artists, and individual performers as we desire to grow their brands and ours as well.

There’s a lot to be proud of, however, one of the most satisfying is having the use of our studio to help benefit our bands across the two labels as best we can. We really want our bands to release the best-sounding product possible and having that extra time is real benefit to that.

Currently, the services we offer are as follows: full audio tracking and engineering for music/band/artist production (recording, mixing, mastering), v/o production, vocal production, podcasting production (Pre-production assistance, in-house recording, and editing of podcasts and audiobooks), film/music video production (Pre-production assistance, on-the-field, and in-studio recording, video editing, video production), and a myriad of artist development services.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Risk-taking is a huge part of stepping out to grow. When one starts taking those risks, the real success is going from someone who simply understands the circumstances, to someone actually doing something about those specific circumstances. In this type of business, there’s always risk that is involved.

Personally, I think taking risks is really a question of faith. Do I have faith to step out past my own clear vision and press on? Some people will only move forward when a clean destination awaits them. I’d say the adventure in life is taking those risks, step at a time, following where the light shines, even if but dimly!

Pricing:
