Hidden Gems: Meet Ashley Villa of Blooming Modèles Program

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Villa.

Ashley, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
The Blooming Modèles Program was created in the start of 2021. I started off with just a passion that later turned into an idea. My parents suggested to start a small group of girls and show them how to model. At first, I was a little nervous because I had no teaching experience nor have, I ever ran a business. After the first class given, I instantly fell in love with Instructing!

Although we started giving classes outdoors, to then moving into a rented space in a venue, I am currently in the process of relocating to our own location in Mesquite!

What started off as an idea, became my main focus and passion, it has been such a great ride.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been 100% everything else but smooth! From starting a business at 19, with no marketing or teaching experience, to managing a school with over 40 models and preparing events. In just the first 2 years in business, I could say that I had the best lessons and opportunities in life with my career. Not everything I did was simple and straight to the point. I had experiences where I wanted to give up and do something else with my life. Many ‘nos,’ and doors shutting, harsh critics, doubtful people… I had moments where I felt like I’m losing or that I’m not doing enough! As the youngest in business around the event industry I’m in, I’ve had other vendors taking credit for my work. I had partnerships who just used me and my models for their benefits. Crediting themselves for my work and ideas – had closed relationships say that without them, I wouldn’t be doing what I’m creating or comment – I wouldn’t be anyone/anything without their ‘help.’ All of that, I know it’s not true, because I’m the one taking the initiative and overcoming the journey.

In the modeling industry, it’s challenging, competitive, and has the hustle culture. I learned this at a very young age, do to that; I created this program around how to overcome these obstacles. I’m glad I did.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
The Blooming Modèles Program is based around building self confidence, self-esteem and gives you the introduction into the modeling industry. We are located in Mesquite TX and take in individuals who are 6-11 and 12-20 (at the moment) and are interested in modeling. My team and I work in smaller groups to focus on each student and help create/shape the model they dream of becoming.

I specialize in perfecting their details – as in, I work one on one with each model to build their portfolio and help them gain self-confidence. My team of instructors all specialize in one branch of modeling, to each practice that skill (runway, posing, speech, acting, commercial, editorial, high fashion, etc.).

The Blooming Modèles Program is known for Confidence boosting and public event participations. The models stay active and motivated.

In my personal opinion, what sets us apart from other schools is that we are family oriented. We treat each individual model and their families as part of our family. It’s a healthy environment and growing community. Had so many returning models for new classes, and we all support one another, no matter the age difference or profession.

I am most proud of not only my talented models but of my team members. Our managers, venues, the instructors, photographers, and makeup artists. They all have given support, advice, and positive attitude towards our Modeling program- it’s a team effort.

Our School is located in the Mesquite area near Towneast Mall and is a 3–5-month program with special classes that revolve around the major modeling industry. We teach in smaller groups to focus on everyone’s progress and self-development. Our goal is to create inspiring and incredible models for the modeling industry!

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Yes. I’ve learned so many lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis in 2020. My biggest lesson was to not depend on others for your dreams or ideas. To have a backup plan at all times.

Because of this lesson, it has allowed me to continuously find new ways to learn, create income, follow my passion, and stay sane/balanced.
