Today we’d like to introduce you to Nakia Campbell.
Hi Nakia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your back story.
Fueled by the motto: Change Your Mind, Change Your Life, Nakia works to inspire individuals and audiences to change their beliefs, discover a new perspective and reprogram negative patterns of thinking so that they can level up at home and at work.
Following a struggle with mental health issues and a life-threatening situation, Nakia decided that it was time to fight back and bring the rest of the world with her, mentally. Using the same process that took her from being close to death, unable to walk, and confused how to grow personally and professionally after trauma, she has been able to help so many other women leaders, entrepreneurs, and creatives thrive in their personal lives and careers as well.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Entrepreneurship is never a smooth road. It’s trial and error. It requires figuring out who your people are and who you can serve. The goal is always to help as many people as possible but in coaching, everyone is not your target audience. One rule of thumb is that coaching clients need to be coachable, and not everyone is a good match. One of my main obstacles is that clients often feel that I am experienced and smart enough to give them the answers. Many people do not understand that a true coach does not give the answers. A true coach will ask powerful questions, walk you through exercises and equip you with the tools needed for you to find the answers within yourself. They are already there. You just need to dig.
As a speaker, the road is smoother. I prepare one message for a large audience instead of tailored messages for several different people. The obstacle to this is preparing a message that is inclusive of both men and women, young or old, and a nine-fiver or an entrepreneur. I’ve reached several audiences throughout the U.S., Canada, and Australia while ensuring that everyone is positively impacted in the same way.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Mental Motivator LLC?
