Exploring Life & Business with V of Sayonara Street

Today we’d like to introduce you to V.

Hi V, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I created Sayonara Street at the end of 2020 after scrolling through TikTok and seeing other people make anime clothing, but none that I liked. I instantly bought an embroidery machine that night and started working on some designs. Once I received it, I started uploading videos of myself making Haikyuu-inspired crewnecks onto TikTok. Luckily some videos blew up and received 1 million + views each, and the rest have been history!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I do get creator’s block here and there. Usually, I’ll revisit old anime that I loved to watch growing up for some inspiration.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
– I design and sell anime clothing

– I design and make clothing that I personally would want to wear. I think what sets Sayonara Street apart from others is that even if an anime is trending, but it’s something that I don’t enjoy, I won’t make any merch for it. I believe if I design stuff that I’m passionate about and actually like, then it really shows in the final product.

– I’m proud that we’ve sold to many different countries worldwide!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My friends, for sure. They’ve helped me from the start when we used to handwrite thank you notes for our orders, to helping put together sticker freebies to packaging, modeling, shooting product photos, helping me deliver insane amount of orders to the post office, and even helping with the design process by giving me their honest opinions.

S/o to the hooligans.
