Today we’d like to introduce you to Imani Faith. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Imani was born in the heart of Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1991. Fast forward to where she moved to Texas with her mother at the age of 5 to be closer to family. For most of her childhood, she was in the care of her aunt Corinthia and Uncle Juan. Right after high school, she went to attend Jarvis Christian College in Tyler, TX at the age of 17 with the help of both of her mentors Johanna Bell and Crystal Smith! While attending Jarvis, she was active members of bulldog cheerleading, art club, student ministry assoc, as well as the legacy club. Going into her sophomore year she was told in the same month that her mother was diagnosed with stage four ear, nose, and throat cancer… She decided to take leave from her school in 2010 to go care for her mother. This is when she got introduced to modeling. She started off by just doing a regular 3 look photo shoot with Calvin Brown based in Fort Worth, Texas. After the shoot, she posted pictures, and big-name photographers, videographers, artists; models started contacting her telling her she has the “Look.” Recently in 2021, Imanis mother, unfortunately, did pass away after a long 12-year battle with cancer which did make her take some time off the modeling scene for mental health reason. A lot of short models tend to think they wouldn’t be able to do much modeling due to height limits in the industry. Well, that was wrong! As she started shooting with different Photographers and being featuring in music videos, magazine publishing, hosting clubs, and celeb events, she became known around the Dallas, Fort Worth area. She has now been shooting with big-name photographers by the names of Calvin Enterprise, Travis Smalls, Charley Croomes, Ben Warner, K-Rish, Larry (Don photography) Alex Hudson, Isaiah Mc Commons, Roderick Conner, Dino Purple Vison, Renell Bell, and Sarah Campbell from Venezuela, Andre Carter, BC Curry, Kendrick Mays, Laser Focus, Bizzy Thomas, Joe Price, and many more! She was also featured in plenty of music Videos throughout her years in the industry as well. She also partnered with Travis small and DJ PBucc to host concerts and cover the media in Houston/ college station including Zero, Yung Dolph, OT Genisis, etc. Imani Faith was also featured in AAOH Magazine, Rising Stars magazine, and more. Imani is also published on the book cover “When second place women come in first” By Andy Brown, as well as her newest publishing on another cover of the book called “Love Trickery” by Author Trinity Love that now is ready for purchase in your nearest bookstores. Imani’s goals are to show the world that petite women can model just as well as the taller women. Imani has over 10 years of experience in this industry with no manager, group nor agency ever representing her! Even now! Imani Faith is available for bookings for the full year of 2023! She enjoys working with all generations of artist, loves hosting events, and love to share her testimony to help others make a difference.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Balancing school: work and modeling! Most of all losing my mother to cancer in 2021
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in modeling, creative art, and directing/ hosting events, casting calls, judging events. I also enjoy educating the younger generation. I am most proud of all of my publishing’s and also of how long I’ve stuck with the modeling for so many years. I am known for being the model that is short but powerful. I can deliver the look you are looking for! I can market your company or product the best by being the face of it and also promoting it. I am hardworking and loyal.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Stay firm on what you will and won’t allow! Modeling is done in so many ways! Find you niche and perfect that! Be yourself always and know your value in the industry! Don’t over-saturate yourself! Be a Gem!
