Rising Stars: Meet Tiffany Alexander

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Alexander.

Hi Tiffany, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I was born and raised in NYC, and I moved to El Paso a few years ago to escape the city’s hustle and bustle. I’m a photographer and content creator passionate about sustainability, and I own an online vintage store.

I love photography because it allows me to capture moments in time that are important to me, whether they’re personal or professional. It’s part of my job to make sure my clients’ stories are told in a way that tells their story best, but it’s also what I do for myself—I also enjoy capturing creative self-portraits. When taking self-portraits, I have complete creative control over the composition, lighting, and framing of the shot. This allows me to experiment and push my creative boundaries, which can be very fulfilling.

I love living in El Paso because there’s so much beauty that surrounds me here; the people are friendly, and the landscapes are immaculate. The city has such a great sense of community, making it easy for me to meet new people and learn from them daily.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
To be honest. No. Moving from NYC to El Paso has been tough. Here’s why. Limited opportunities: Since El Paso is a small town compared to NYC, there are not many opportunities for photographers as in larger cities. There may be fewer events or subjects to photograph, which can make it challenging to expand my portfolio or find new clients. Additionally, the limited audience and exposure can be frustrating, however, as I grow, remain consistent and continue to connect with people here in El Paso, it’s all beginning to come together & it gets better every every day! Especially after the pandemic!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Sure, I’d be happy to share more about my work as a portrait & branding photographer, content creator, and sustainability advocate.

I specialize in capturing portraits and branding photos for individuals and businesses that showcase their unique personalities and brand identity. I also create visual content for social media and digital marketing, including graphics, videos, and written content.

What sets me apart from others is my passion for sustainability. I strongly believe in the power of visual storytelling to promote positive change and inspire others to take action. That’s why I love working with individuals and businesses that share this passion and are committed to making a difference.

I started my photography and content creation journey several years ago, and I’ve always been drawn to the creative and visual aspects of these fields. As I continued to develop my skills and build my portfolio, I became increasingly interested in sustainability and environmental issues. I realized that my love for visual storytelling could be used to raise awareness and promote positive change, and I began incorporating this message into my work.

What I’m most proud of is the impact that my work has had on others. Whether it’s through capturing a portrait that helps an individual feel confident and empowered or creating visual content that inspires others to make more sustainable choices, I love being able to use my skills to make a positive difference in the world.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
First and foremost, my husband has been my rock throughout my creative journey. He has been there for me through the ups and downs, helping me to stay focused and positive and supporting me in everything that I do. He has even helped me direct photoshoots, bringing his own unique perspective and creativity to the table.

My uncle is a fashion designer based in Washington, DC. He has always been a huge inspiration to me, with his creative vision and willingness to take risks. He has supported me every step of the way, sharing his knowledge and expertise and helping me to develop my own unique style.

My grandmother has also been a major influence on my life and career. She has been a constant source of love and support from the time I was a little girl. She has always believed in me and encouraged me to pursue my passions, even when things were tough.

My twin sister is also a huge inspiration to me. As a muralist, she has an incredible talent for creating large-scale art that transforms spaces and brings people together. Her love and support have been instrumental in my own creative pursuits, and I’m constantly inspired by her work.

My clients, who have been instrumental in the success of my business. Their support and trust in my work have been incredibly motivating, and their feedback has helped me to grow and improve as a photographer and content creator.

Through their projects, I have been able to expand my portfolio and develop new skills, which has helped me to attract new clients and opportunities. I am grateful for each and every client that I have worked with, and I strive to deliver high-quality work and excellent customer service to each and every one of them.

Last but not least, I have to give credit to my community. I am so grateful for the love and support that I have received from those around me, whether it’s through social media engagement, referrals, or collaborations. Without them, I would not be where I am today.

All of these people have played a big role in my success, and I’m incredibly grateful for each and every one of them. They have inspired me, supported me, and believed in me, and I could not have done it without them.
