Today, we’d like to introduce you to Marwa Taha. Marwa was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Norah Shazad.
Marwa, can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Since high school I was always interested in photography and the concepts of pursuing the field but never found the motivation to learn about cameras so I took it as a way to use my phone to capture beautiful moments of the sunsets, friends, and family through my phone lenses. I loved taking pictures of basically anything and everything while being out and to be able to capture the moment, edit and post them just for fun. I always had friends around me saying how talented I was and should go pursue photography but I always brushed it off. Never would I have thought in my end of my undergrad college year I would be pursuing photography. Photography is more than just a picture I capture is more than the sitting down and editing. Photography gives me a space where I can be myself and be able to mess up, learn from it, pick myself back up and try again all in my own pace. No one can stop you from achieving something great but myself. Being able to create amazing memories for my clients is the reason I enjoy what I do and it is a learning process. With each client that I had I learn new things whether it is from my camera, my lenses, the client or the area we are shooting at. The best part of this journey is that it is on my own terms and what I am comfortable doing because I am my own boss. I would not be where I am today without my support system behind me and pushing me to the best version of me.
Please tell us more about your brand, MarwaFlashes
My business is Photography. The job itself is to meet up with clients in an area where we both can accommodate to make and have the photo shoot. What sets me apart from everyone else is that I am motivated enough to always give my best of the best without negativity. A lot of the time certain people will go under because of negativity or negative comments but that concept will always be around and will have to learn to block the negativity and think about the positive outcomes. Nobody is perfect and there are ups and downs of this field but I like to take every mistake as a way to learn more about myself and what I am pursuing and do better to the next client instead of giving up. What I am most proud of with my brand is that I took that step to start it up now rather than just talk about it and not do it. Most people struggle with starting a brand or business because all they do it talk for hours about it but never take the next step to go for it. I am proud that I took that leap of faith and started it and have been getting a lot of traction on my page and clients to work with and that makes me the happiest.
Norah Shazad and Azure Co. have been great to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship with them as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Norah Shazad and Azure Co. and your experience with them.
Norah is an author of 2 poetry books and the 3rd one is on the way, a full time college student and the owner of Azure Clothing brand. I first discovered Norah through a childhood friend to potentially be my roommate about 3 years ago and ever since then we became closer and closer. A bit about her books they are very raw, very personal and feels like you are actually living in that very moment like you can feel what she went through it as her character development through each book. In November of 2021 she started her clothing brand Azure Co. which is a very unique and different type of clothing brand. She used a very special and unique name to bring her books and clothes together as one. I believe she expresses herself through her books and the way she designs her clothes. In October 2022 I started pursing my passion of photography and she is one of the biggest reasons I pushed myself to do it. We both have got clients to model for the both of us with her clothing brand and using me as the main source for being the photographer. Ever since then we both have been collaborating and have many future goals to achieve together. Working with Norah was a great experience to see her clothing brand and me being able to bring her work to life and on the internet for people to be able to not only see my work but her work as well. Norah is an amazing person inside and out and she has been through a lot and back yet she finds a way back to achieve her goals with God by her side. I am very proud of where she’s going with everything and hopefully in the future we both continue to work with each other and collaborate more often. She is a great person and excited for her to drop new designs, her new book and I believe she will become one of the most successful people out there.
