Hi Kenzie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started our company, Fidèle Boutique, in 2018 in my college apartment. While in college, I worked at Dallas Market with many of the brands that we currently carry in our store. I learning a lot about the fashion industry and really loved the entire small business atmosphere. My heart for small business grew. I took the idea of my love for Jesus and Fashion, and I blended the two together, creating Fidèle Boutique, which means Faithful. With sharing my love for both, I created Fidèle in hopes of inspiring women to grow in their Faith while gaining knowledge in fashion.
We have been online since August of 2018, and then in April of 2022 we opened our first storefront in my hometown of Carthage, Texas. It’s been so much fun but definitely a wild roller coaster.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Anyone that owns a business knows that the road is definitely not easy. It’s like a fun but extremely wild roller coaster. Always learning and always growing. Always on your toes and always ready to pivot or “adapt.” When covid hit in 2020 we had to take a step back and truly figure out who our customer was. Who was she? How will we serve her? What does she love, and what did she specifically love do on a Saturday with her girlfriends? Now, in 2023, more than ever, small businesses are feeling the hit of 2020. It’s so very important to stay true to the foundations and values of what your company is and to always put Christ first. As it’s His business in the first place.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I’m honestly so happy with where we are! I love having our store in our hometown. You can’t beat a local, East Texas small business, and the great community. The people are amazing. We are also online, which has allowed us to make great relationships with people all over the world.
The boutique industry is always changing and always shifting. In 5-10 years, I can 100% see a major shift in the way people shop. It’s going to be interesting, but we can’t wait for the challenge.
