Rising Stars: Meet Jeremiah Woodard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremiah Woodard.

Hi Jeremiah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started getting into photography when I was in high school. My parents bought me my first camera on Christmas, but my brother Tommy is the sole reason I wanted to do this in the first place. He is someone I can consider my mentor. I can tell him some ideas I would like to try out, and he gives me some of the best advice. I do hope one day I can be as good as him.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all. The one thing I struggle with is getting myself out there. I was always nervous about asking people, “Hey, can I take your picture?” At one point, I was starting to get used to asking; heck, even have gotten compliments on the pictures I take of them.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What I’m most proud of is a lot more people are taking notice of my work. I’m not really out there yet, but I feel like I’m going in the right direction. I like people to know who I am and my personality through my work.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My friend Ke’ston, whom I consider my brother. We used to either be outside skating or playing video games on either Xbox 360 or PS2. That’s my favorite childhood memory.
