Today we’d like to introduce you to Kashenia Browne.
Hi Kashenia, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
My background is in the hair and beauty industry. I have owned hair salons, spas, and recently a wig boutique for over the past 25 years! I will always love the beauty business, but it was time to pursue another passion of mine, and that is fashion. Ever since I was a little girl, I remember my mother taking me and my sister to Neiman Marcus to buy our very first Easter dresses. It was such a magical experience like no other! It was then that I fell in love with fashion!
I recently launched my boutique, B’Luxe Style in February 2022. It was shortly after the pandemic that I began to really think about doing it. As I stated, I was owning my hair and wig boutique, and it was doing good, but I just felt like it was time to do something else. I was asking myself what did I want to do and wanting to do something I really loved! So, I began to think about my passions and what I really enjoyed doing. Fast forward to 2021, my husband took me on an amazing trip to London, Paris, and Milan for my birthday, and I fell in love with the culture, the fashion, and the European lifestyle. It reignited a spark in me! It was there that I knew that fashion had to be my next business! A few months later, I flew back to Paris and Milan, where I began to research, meet with different companies to start my business. It was a great experience learning about fashion from the fashion capitals of the world! It gave me a greater appreciation for the process and how much time and effort goes into designing each piece. This is the reason why I love French and Italian-made design and why I knew that these fashions had to be a part of my boutique.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been as smooth as I would like. No business really ever is But that’s ok because I’ve learned that it’s the difficulties that really teach you what you really need to know. It’s really about the journey and finding the good in it.

B’Luxe Style is an online curated women’s clothing and accessories boutique. We feature the most fashion-forward styles from Italy and Paris. We bring forth unique styles that women want. Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t like to use luck. I feel that I’m blessed to be able to do what I love! I’ve been able to start many successful businesses. And this one I’m particularly very passionate about. I love to see when women embrace clothes and step out of their box! Especially when they choose styles that they thought may not necessarily work for them. It’s really gives me a great feeling to see how much they love it!
