Meet Lisa Hammett of Lisa Hammett Success Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lisa Hammett.

Hi Lisa, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
After 26 years in the corporate retail sector, I reached burnout. I felt like I had slammed into a cement wall and lost the emotional capacity to continue in my current situation. The world turned gray, devoid of color. I was 65 pounds overweight, suffering from chronic migraines and other health issues. My marriage was rocky. In a moment of desperation, I left a long career without an exit strategy, causing significant financial hardship, including bankruptcy.

After leaving corporate, I began my health and wellness journey and lost the weight. I became a health and wellness coach for one of the largest global wellness companies. For 11+ years, I helped thousands of individuals create sustainable healthy habits, lose weight, and maintain their weight loss. I launched my Success Coaching practice in May of 2020, incorporating Life Coaching. I help executives and high-performing business owners manage stress to prevent burnout and get healthy. I’m very passionate about helping others avoid the health and financial challenges that I went through.

In 2021, I completed an intensive global coaching program with HPC (High Performing Coach), and am currently completing my Positive Intelligence mental fitness certification.

My first book, From Burnout to Best Life. How to take charge of your health and happiness reached best-seller status in 16 categories globally.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely was not a smooth road. There were many bright spots after leaving the corporate sector, but also many challenges. I reclaimed by emotional and physical wellbeing by losing 65 pounds and by focusing on my mental health. I learned how mindset impacts all areas of life and why gratitude is so important to a healthy life. In addition to spending 11+ years as a Wellness Coach, I began a 16-year journey in the direct selling industry where I earned many incentive trips to exotic locations. I made wonderful friendships that will last a lifetime. My biggest challenge was never being able to replace my corporate income. This caused significant financial hardship, including bankruptcy, which put further strain on my marriage.

In 2020 the direct selling company I was working for closed its doors. It was an emotional time. After weeks of soul-searching, I decided to leave the industry and start my own coaching practice, incorporating Life Coaching.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I help executives, and high-performing business owners manage stress to prevent burnout by developing mental fitness. I’m very passionate about helping individuals before they reach burnout so they do not experience the emotional, physical, and financial hardships that I went through. The foundation of my practice is mental fitness, which is the ability to identify negative thought patterns that reside in the left analytical brain, how they impact behavior, and then shift to a positive perspective. My clients have the opportunity to take an in-depth 6-week Positive Intelligence course that provides them with an understanding of how their negative thought patterns influence their behavior and impact their life. I have successfully helped clients manage stress, transition from toxic work environments, lose weight, develop a winner’s mindset, increase productivity, and improve relationships. I’m also a TEDx and Motivational Speaker and the best-selling author of From Burnout to Best Life. I partner with organizations and corporations to educate staff on stress management and self-care best practices to prevent burnout in the workplace.
