Today we’d like to introduce you to Kimber Kennedy.
Hi Kimber, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I recently founded 10th Pow4r, an Edtech company geared towards empowering youth through innovation.
My decision to start a technology company is inspired most by my 3 children. My 10yr daughter Amerie from a very young age, showed interest in STEM and is always creating things using electricity and performing experiments. Her interest center on space science, electrical engineering, and biology.
Then along came my 5yr old son Taylor and he followed in her footsteps showing an early interest in STEM and Technology. My sons’ interest are robotics and bioengineering as he is influenced by superheroes and their armor/ capabilities.
My oldest daughter Jaselyn recently took up coding and also aspires to go into the tech field.
I feel that unconsciously I started to groom my own children towards advanced technology from a young age. Seeing what they are capable of imagining and also creating heavily influenced my decision to start my Edtech company.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some obstacles I faced are that I am still recovering from a house fire I experienced last Spring.
I do not come from a strong support system and am not native to Texas, so recovering has not been easy. Prior to the fire me, and my children moved state to state for 4 years, living in hiding from our abuser.
I am just now at a point of being able to rebuild, and I am thankful because my vision is clear. When you have lost everything, you become unafraid of taking calculated risk.
My motto now is calculated risk over complacency.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us a bit more about your business.
My company is focused on revolutionizing the way students learn and engage with technology. We are an advanced education technology company that leverages the latest in artificial intelligence and machine learning to personalize and optimize the learning experience for each individual student.
My aim is to introduce and hone innovative skills within children starting at age 5, specifically focusing on Robotics, Bioengineering, Space Science, and Web 3.
I want to prepare the youth for the future by giving them the skills to become entrepreneurs, innovators, engineers, and specialized workers within the ever-growing and cutting-edge tech industry.
Alright, so before we go, can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
At this moment, I am seeking a freelance 3D modeler, specifically a design architect.
Also seeking investors and collaborators.
To donate to our youth tech classes, we can be found on the fundraiser platform Give, Send, Go if you search 10thPow4r.
I also have a fundraiser, Dapper Day, that can be searched on the same platform.
The aim of Dapper Day is to provide male youth within disadvantaged communities with suits and formal wear for prom and graduation.
