Hi Christian, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Conjure and Divination was always a part of my life. Before I get into that, Hi! I’m Christian; I’m a Bone and Tarot reader based out of Fort Worth! Divination came to me from a young age; this gift presented itself to me while sitting in the trees of the rural south between the heat and the stigma. I always had a deep connection to nature with the trees, the plants, and the animals. I moved around a lot until here recently, always finding my home within my loved ones and my friends and family but also within the natural world. I have never met a stranger, so growing up, I met a girl who I now call my sister. I grew up in a time and place where any form of Spirituality or connection to nature or homosexuality was very frowned upon, so you can imagine my relief in the life I was living when my sister introduced me to my Spiritual family, and boy do I love them dearly. I studied Rootwork and Conjure under the eldership of Starr Casas. She taught my sister and I as she would any of her next generations of what we call “Workers.” As we grew our skills and knowledge, we both took a path that mixed the Southern Conjure practices with eclectic witchcraft, which painted such a pretty picture and understanding of Spirituality through the lens of the natural world. I grew to be a healer through the art of Divination. I personally have multiple modalities of divination that I perform, so each session is deeply tailored to each person along with intuitive messages I receive from Spirit during the readings. This was always my way of helping folks heal through trauma due to family issues, marital problems, depression, anxiety, or other negative aspects or areas of life. I was never one to charge folks for my services. I always offered medicinal herbal healing for those in need along with a good heartfelt friendship and a reading. It’s truly my passion in life to help folks through what they are going through using all the information I’ve learned along the way. It wasn’t until about a year ago when I started opening this up for business to the public instead of just word of mouth. When I originally opened the shop, I was hoping for an online community, but I found my place within the Spiritual Community of DFW and have obtained a large and lovely following of people seeking healing, and I have found so much fulfillment in being able to be that medium for people between their assumed reality and the Spirit World. This business had continued to surprise me in so many ways through intuitive messages I receive while building connections with people while also being Spirit Led, and have found this to be a quintessential time for the world we live in.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh no! Life is never easy, and that a lot of times follows along with the narrative of Conjure or Witchcraft. It is all work, but it’s through work we find our strengths and how to heal from things we may not have been aware of. The road is always smooth; it just depends on where your path leads you is how I believe. Our paths in life are always dependent upon our surroundings. Through the multiple moves I’ve made in the last year, and the trials and tribulations I’ve overcome with the help of my family continue to be a blessing of lessons as I go along.

Verbena Botanicals Apothecary is a ground-up built business centered around Spiritual Healing, Herbal Holistic Healing, and Spirituality in general. It is a wonderful shop I’ve concocted that is filled to the brim with Magic, Creativity, and Uniqueness. I truly try to tailor my shop to the public, whether that is a spiritual oil for any purpose, commission work for herbal concoctions, or reading appointments. I try to blend as much as I can with deep respect not only for the cultures they come from but also for the Ancestors who have paved the way for so many Spiritualists like myself. Verbena is truly a come-as-you-are business centered around the word “HELP.” How can I help a person is always my first question for folks. I’m deeply known for my Bone Throwing divination and my herbal creations to heal ailments. I always remain eclectic in Nature.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am a perfectionist when it comes to my business. I am very go-with-the-flow in many areas of my life, but when it comes to my business, I am very detail-oriented. This, I believe, truly shows in my products and services. It gets under my skin when I can’t get to the root of something.
