Hi Aaron, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Hi, my name is Aaron Lawson (aaronlwsn). I am a cinematographer and video editor. I got into videography by watching my brother work. Picking up inspiration to express my visions and ideas, I realized the best possible way to achieve that would be through my lens. Hardwork, dedication, and a lot of practice got me where I am today. Everything you want is at the other side of comfort so I made sure to work hard in silence and let my success do the talking for me.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been a great ride; with life, there are always ups and downs, but the journey is what matters. As a young creative, people tend to ignore the amount of experience I’ve attained and focus more on my age. Doing this for over seven years and still having to prove yourself because of a demographic has been the hardest part. As well as balancing tour stress, quick turnarounds times, and traveling. But I wouldn’t give it up for anything, all glory to God.

I run a video production company based in Dallas, Texas. We produce emotion-filled stories that resonate with customers and re-enforces and differentiates their brand from the competition. Businesses often struggle with telling a story about their business and creating brand awareness. I solve that by creating story-telling videos in the commercial, real estate, concerts, and events spaces. I pride myself on always delivering quality stories and immersive videos.
How do you define success?
Success as a videographer and editor to me includes producing high-quality work, satisfying clients, experiencing professional growth, meeting business goals, and creating impactful storytelling. Consistently delivering videos that meet or exceed client expectations and are recognized for their visual and storytelling excellence, building and maintaining a satisfied client base through excellent customer service and repeat business, continuously improving skills and knowledge through staying updated with industry trends and expanding the portfolio, achieving financial and business goals such as revenue targets and effective expense management, creating videos that have a meaningful impact on the audience through compelling storytelling.
