Meet Desiree Rodriguez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Desiree Rodriguez.

Hi Desiree, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started making soap around 6 years ago, and just kind of fell in love with the art of it, so I decided to turn it into a small business that is also a creative outlet for me!

What sets HAUTBath apart from other soap businesses is our commitment to using only the best, all-natural ingredients. I never use any harsh chemicals or artificial fragrances, and all of my soaps are handmade in small batches to ensure the highest quality. My main focus is soap for dry/sensitive skin, so they are lightly scented with essential oils and include organic butters.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve definitely faced my fair share of challenges on this journey, but I’ve also found that the process itself can be incredibly rewarding. As a one-man show, it can be overwhelming at times, but I’ve learned so much in the process.

From web design to video editing to order fulfillment, I’ve had the opportunity to develop a wide range of new skills that have been helpful in a lot of ways.

Overall, I’m grateful for the ups and downs of this journey and the opportunities they’ve provided for me to learn and improve as a small business owner.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’ve been thinking about ways to add more value to my customers and help them take care of themselves both inside and out. With this in mind, I decided to create a new blog on my website where customers can find inspiration and helpful tips for living a healthy lifestyle.

The blog doesn’t have a name yet, but I’m considering calling it DuJourGlow – Your Daily Dose of Chic Wellness. It will feature healthy recipes, lifestyle content, and other helpful resources that customers can use to enhance their overall well-being.

My hope is that the blog will be a valuable addition to my website, providing customers with more than just soap products.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I like best about Dallas is the people and the different areas the city has to offer.

I’ve found the people in Dallas to be incredibly friendly and welcoming. Whether I’m meeting new people or interacting with locals, everyone seems to have a genuine warmth and kindness about them. I’ve also noticed that the people here have a strong sense of community, and it’s really nice to be around that.

I also love the vibrant culture and the fact that there is always something new to discover, from the arts and music scene to the amazing food and shopping options. There are also a lot of cute and interesting neighborhoods such as Bishop Arts & Deep Ellum for example; they have great food options, lots of places to go see a show (which is something I love to do), as well as their artsy vibes!

What I like least about Dallas are the Summers-they can be a little too hot for my taste, but I do like to spend a lot of time at home with my Husband cooking, playing with our 3 cats, and of course making soap!
