Today we’d like to introduce you to Cheryl Mazique.
Hi Cheryl, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I was a teen mom; I had my first child at the age of 15, but that didn’t stop me. After giving birth two weeks later, I was back at school. My mother didn’t allow me to make giving birth to my daughter an excuse to not finish school. I was able to graduated high school with honors in the top 50 of my class. Straight from high school, I started working in corporate America. I had the opportunity to go to college, however, I didn’t feel college was for me because I had a small child to provide for. I always had a desire to start a business, but I didn’t know where to start when it came to opening my own business, nor did I know what type of business I would open. I just always knew that I was created for more than just going to work to pay bills. I don’t knock a job however, I know that I was created for a purpose bigger than me, bigger than any job, and that I had greatness inside of me that was too big to be stuck behind a computer my whole life building someone else dreams in their company. In corporate America, I worked in the mortgage and banking industry, and in 2013, I got laid off for the first time. When I got laid off, it opened my eyes and allowed me to see that I wasn’t in control of my income and that someone else dictated if I would be able to provide for my family. Number 2 I wasn’t prepared financially because I was living paycheck to paycheck on a high level. I was making six figures; however, I wasn’t a good money manager, and I wasn’t saving enough money for situations like this. After this happened, I started to look for something to supplement my income, and that’s when I found the direct sales industry. I fell in love with the industry because it gave me the opportunity to actually start a business, and they actually taught me how to be a business owner. In the industry, I had some failures, and I had some successes. In 2021 things started to shift for me. God told me to write a workbook, and the workbook would be on healing. My immediate response was Jesus; I don’t know anything about healing. As soon as I said that, he reminded me that I do know about healing, and then he started to bring back to my mind of all the things I’ve healed from. Starting with childhood, I had major trauma behind being a teen mom; I also had some daddy issues, My dad and I have rebuilt our relationship now in adult years, and we have a bond that can’t be broken today; however, during my childhood, he wasn’t as present as much as I desired and that had a major impact on the decisions I made when dating men. I also had other things that I healed from, like the effects of infidelity and how you feel worthless, unwanted, like something is wrong with you. I was impacted with infidelity in multiple relationships, and I started to think I was the reason everyone had cheated on me until I started to do my healing work. I realized that it wasn’t me, but they had unresolved issues that they needed to heal from that caused them to seek for attention with other women as a way to suppress their hurt and pain and run away from their issues and not deal with them. In 2012 my 2-year-old daughter at the time had retnablastoma (Eye) Cancer, and when I tell you this was a hard trauma to go through is an understatement. The effects that cancer has on the whole family is traumatizing. This situation really built my faith. She’s officially 11 years cancer free. These are just some of the things that I’ve had to heal from. God told me to put everything that I did to heal myself inside the workbook to help women heal. I said ok and started to write the workbook, this was in January of 2021 however, February, March, April, May, June Came, and life was happening, and I procrastinated and stop writing the workbook. July came, and my world got extra complicated. My whole family got sick with COVID that, includes my husband, myself, and 4 of our 5 children. At the same time, about a week later, I got a phone call that my mom was not herself and that my brother and sister in love was taking her to the hospital. Once we got the results back from the hospital, they determined that she had stage 4 lung cancer. So, I was a rock in a hard place really trying to figure out what to do. My family started to feel better, my husband was home from the hospital, and he was feeling well enough for me to leave everything and head to Louisiana to be by my mom side. Thirty days later on August 30, she died and transitioned to heaven. I was there by her side as she took her last breath and it just did something to me. It lit a fire to start operating fully in my purpose. Once I took care of her funeral, I headed back home to Texas and had an urgency to get the book finished. I gave myself 7 days to complete the book; however, God work me up every morning between 4am and 4:30 am for the next 4 days, and I completed the workbook. The workbook is called The 30-day Guide on How To Fall In Love With Yourself Again and Become a Lady of Faith Over Fear. I’m still in awe on the testimonies that I get daily on how the workbook has changed their lives, how they now have a closer relationship with God, how people can see that change in them, marriages have been renew and restored just to name a few testimonies. I’m in awe because all I did was be obedient, and God is using me as a vessel to help women heal and start to gain their confidence back or get confidence for the first time. Like I said earlier when I first got started in business in 2013, I had no clue of what my purpose was; however, through mentorship, coaching, conferences, personal development, prayers & life experience, I discovered that my purpose is to help women who are in Caregivers roles and women in leadership roles heal from current and past traumas. I teach them how to use the pain from the traumas to push them into purpose so that once they heal, they can live their life fully operating in purpose and the assignment that God has specifically for them. I provide healing through workbooks, Conferences (Experiences), and a live virtual online 6-week accountability healing course.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Absolutely not, when you make a decision to follow Jesus and start to operate in your purpose, that’s when the devil makes a decision that you have a target on your back. The Devil starts to come after you with everything he can think of until you quick going after your purpose. I’ve experience issues with my children, my sibling, my spouse, in my business, and in my finances when I made a decision that I was going all in for God and fully operating in purpose. The road has not been smooth. However, God never calls the qualified he qualifies the called. The qualification period is the trails that you go through. We have to remember that weapons may form, but the will not prosper on the road to success and living in God’s purpose for your life. The devil may knock you down, but if God wakes you up, that means he is not through with you yet, and you still have work to do.

Ladies Of Faith Over Fear was created in 2014 as a name for my business group however, as I stated earlier in 2021, things shifted from network marking to helping women to heal. Ladies of Faith Over Fear is now a publicly trademarked company as of 2020, and we are a community, it’s a sisterhood, a ministry that help women to do the healing work. We have a free Facebook community where women can come into the community and have someone pour back into them with a positive word from myself or one of my leaders. We help the women evolve in every area of life, we have a financial coach, Business Coach, Life Coach, domestic violence Coach, and we have prayer warriors on the team. You can also purchase the 30-Day workbook and do the work on your own in a self-paced environment, or you can join a live group coaching session. Our 6-week healed-to-live coaching online virtual course helps you deep dive into your healing, and you will receive accountability on the healing journey. Me being authentic self sets me apart from others in my industry, and I lead with Jesus, God the father, the son and the Holy spirt as head of my business. I am a Kingdom kid and a Kingdom business owner. Some people may not like that I’m big on Jesus , and that’s ok; those are just not the people I’m assigned to. I can’t leave God out of my business because I wouldn’t be who I am today if it wasn’t for the God I serve., I want women to know that it’s not about how you started but how you finished. You are never too old to make a decision to start healing and start to operate in your greatness and your purpose.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My advice is get a mentor, as mentors help shorten your learning curve. Know that you must be willing to invest in mentorship, courses, workbooks, conferences. I can’t count the money that I’ve invested in getting in the right rooms to get in an environment to help me grow. The best investment you can ever make is in yourself. If you want to go to the next level in business or life, find someone who has accomplished what you are looking to accomplish and hire them to mentor you. They have already done what you are looking to do it will cut your time in half to reach the goal you are looking to reach. I’m so thankful for each and every mentor that I’ve had in my life, starting with my mother Patricia Parker. I would not be the women I am today if it wasn’t for her. I’ve also been blessed to have a spiritual coach Lenika Scott, Financial coach Dr. Erica, Business Coach Brandy Walker, and life Coach Toya “Citi’ Citizen.
