Today we’d like to introduce you to Ritchy Flo.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born on a bright autumn day on October 27th, 1988, in Weatherford, Texas. From a very young age, I had a fascination with magic. Even as a toddler, I would hide behind the couch and try to make things disappear with my tiny hands.
Growing up on Liberty Street, a quiet suburban neighborhood, I was always surrounded by family. My uncle, dad, and grandpa all showed me different magic tricks at different times throughout my life. I remember my grandpa teaching me the classic “cup and ball” trick, where you make a ball disappear and reappear under a cup. My dad showed me how to do the “floating card” trick, where you make a card levitate in the air. And my uncle taught me how to make coins disappear and reappear in my hands.
When I turned six, I received a magic kit from Sam’s Club for my birthday. It was the Marshall Brodean 175 tricks and illusions show, and it included a little doll that I named Mr. Flo. I spent hours practicing the tricks with Mr. Flo every day, and soon enough, I was performing magic shows for my family and friends.
One of my favorite tricks to perform was the “disappearing rabbit.” I would have a small toy rabbit in my hand, and with a flick of my wrist, the rabbit would vanish into thin air. I also loved performing the “levitating ball” trick, where I would make a small foam ball levitate in mid-air.
As I got older, my interests shifted to music. I started listening to rap music and became interested in producing beats. However, I never forgot my love for magic. When I turned 18, something sparked in me, and I picked up my old magic kit again.
I started incorporating magic tricks into my live performances, and people loved it. One of my signature tricks was the “vanishing microphone,” where I would make my microphone disappear and reappear in my hand. I also loved performing the “card through glass” trick, where I would make a chosen card appear on the other side of a glass window.
Throughout my life, my mom has always been my biggest cheerleader, constantly encouraging me with great advice. When I was younger, she would always say, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” This quote has stuck with me throughout my journey, reminding me to keep pushing forward even when things get tough.
As I got older and started pursuing music, my mom’s advice shifted slightly. She would tell me, “Believe in yourself and your talent, and never give up on your dreams.” These words of encouragement have been a driving force behind my success in the music industry.
Now, at the age of 34, I’ve become a sensation in the music industry. I’m known as the “Magician Rapper” and have even created my own genre of music, which I call “Magic Rap.” Looking back on my journey, I can’t help but feel grateful for the early experiences that sparked my love for magic. My uncle, dad, and grandpa may have shown me different magic tricks, but it was their love and support that helped me become the great magician and rapper-producer I am today.
Now, if you want to see my latest magic tricks or hear my newest beats, check out my growing YouTube channel. I’m still striving to be the best in the music industry, and with the support of my family and fans, I know I can make it happen.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
My journey to become a successful magician and rapper-producer wasn’t an easy one. When I first started out, I struggled to gain recognition and acceptance from the public. Being in a niche market meant that not everyone appreciated my talents, and it was disheartening to be turned down from performing because some people were afraid of magic.
I remember one time, I was asked to perform at a local talent show, but they were hesitant to let me take the stage because of my magic tricks. They were afraid that it might scare some of the audience members, and I was turned down at the last minute. It was a huge blow to my confidence, and I felt like giving up.
Another time, I on America’s Got Talent, but I wasn’t chosen because of a rigged voting system. It was a harsh reminder that even in the entertainment industry, politics and biases can influence decisions, and it was frustrating to not get a fair chance to showcase my talents. Being in the audience watching just wasn’t enough to get the attention of the judges I needed.
Aside from these setbacks, I also faced financial difficulties and had to rely on people who believed in magic and supported my work to continue creating content. It was tough to keep pushing forward when there wasn’t much money coming in, and I had to learn how to budget wisely and make the most of my resources.
I also struggled with building a following on my YouTube channel. It was challenging to create content that people would enjoy and want to share with others. I spent hours brainstorming and creating videos, but it was disheartening when my content didn’t get many views or engagement. You should subscribe and share my videos right now, honestly, https://www.youtube.com/@ritchyflomagic
Despite all these challenges, I never gave up on my dreams. I continued to hone my craft and create unique content that blended my love for music and magic. I experimented with different styles and techniques and kept pushing myself to improve.
Over time, my hard work and dedication paid off, and I started gaining a following and recognition for my talents. People started reaching out to me with opportunities to perform at events, and I started getting more gigs and exposure.
Looking back on my journey, I’m proud of how far I’ve come. I know that there will be more challenges and setbacks along the way, but I’m ready to face them head-on and continue pursuing my passions.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Well, for starters, I’m a magician, rapper, and producer. I specialize in combining music and magic to create unique and entertaining performances.
As a magician, I’ve been performing for over a decade, and I’ve developed a repertoire of tricks and illusions that are sure to leave audiences amazed. I’ve also incorporated elements of hip-hop and rap into my performances, which sets me apart from traditional magicians and creates a fresh and exciting experience for my audience.

What sets me apart from others is my unique blend of music and magic. I’ve created a niche for myself that allows me to stand out in both the music and magic industries. I’ve also worked hard to develop my skills in both fields, which allows me to create innovative and memorable performances.
Overall, I’m passionate about my work, and I’m always looking for ways to push myself creatively and entertain audiences. I’m excited to see where my career takes me and to continue to develop my skills as a magician, rapper, and producer.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always drawn to creativity and entertainment. I loved performing and making people laugh, and I was fascinated by the art of magic. From a young age, I was curious and eager to learn, always asking questions and trying to figure out how things worked.
Personality-wise, I was outgoing and friendly, always eager to make new friends and try new things. I was never afraid to take risks or put myself out there, which helped me develop my skills as a performer.
My interests were diverse and constantly evolving. In addition to magic, I was also interested in music, art, and sports. I loved playing basketball and football with my friends and spent hours listening to music and practicing my rap skills.
In my younger years, I also had a playful and mischievous side. I enjoyed playing with my Mr. Flo doll, which was included in the magic kit I received as a gift. I would often practice my magic tricks on the doll and create elaborate performances for my family and friends.
Despite my playful nature, I was also quite sneaky and rarely got into trouble. I was always able to talk my way out of sticky situations and never got caught doing anything too serious.
However, during my teenage years, I did get into some trouble between the ages of 15-17. I don’t like to dwell on that time in my life, but I will say that it taught me some valuable lessons and helped shape me into the person I am today.
Unfortunately, my mischievous tendencies and class clown antics got the best of me in school, and I never completed my education. But I don’t regret it. Instead, I focused on developing my skills as a magician and rapper and worked hard to turn my passions into successful careers.
