Meet Duane & Antoinette McCoy of Legind Studios

Today we’d like to introduce you to Duane & Antoinette McCoy.

Hi Duane & Antoinette, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We started making films in 2009. We wrote a short film called New World Order. After being picked up by a network, Parable TV, we added to the story and turned it into a feature-length that found a home with the distribution company Bridgestone Multi-Media Group. The complete name of the movie, New World Order The End Has Come, has withstood the test of time, going on to be at the top of BMG’s most acclaimed titles.

In 2016 we began writing and producing a new NWO film called Dark Prince. Faced with funding challenges, we now worked with our children to finance our family-run production company.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Producing a film is a huge undertaking. One of a producer’s biggest challenges is funding. Although the idea came from God, we faced many obstacles, mostly related to a lack of capital, but faith got us through it all. We also faced challenges filming at the height of the pandemic, although at the same time turned out a great blessing in galvanizing the entire cast and production to get it done.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Among the various talents and giftings from God, writing is a specialty, creative writing to be specific. To tell a good story requires a good understanding of the human condition, how people respond to events in life, what motivates a person or character to make certain choices, and many other variables. Having given ourselves to study the art and craft of writing believable characters gives our films an advantage. Giving God all the glory, we are very grateful for accomplishing making two feature films. Our newest film Dark Prince is poised to be a huge success to be distributed internationally via our platform Legind Plus.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
When it comes to advice when starting the best we can give is to know what your purpose is. We believe that doing what God has ordained, if one can hold on to faith through challenges, will result in success. It is always a good practice to prepare as much as one can before venturing out into anything, especially if it is to make a film.
