Rising Stars: Meet Candyce Grant

Today we’d like to introduce you to Candyce Grant.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
WearMyTestimony is not your average Christian apparel company. We emphasize overcoming daily giants, becoming walking affirmations, and inspiring believers and non-believers to know more about Christ. In 2020, CEO Candyce Grant began her quest to share the Gospel through apparel. After many life challenges, striving to overcome daily issues, battling the Cancer journey with both parents and encountering several health issues made it essential to find an avenue of peace. Writing the word and affirmations became a daily process, so what better way to share with others than creating apparel to evangelize when others don’t even know what they are possibly reading it. The company is family-owned, and the children even work diligently to design for their age group as well. WearMyTestimony is the foundation for the Tuesday Instagram Live, Let’s Slay that focuses on different topics that host speakers who give strategies to overcome. We are thankful for every customer and the opportunity to spread the gospel through our apparel.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every new adventure produces challenges and obstacles. The initial attempt to begin the apparel company was not a complete success. After trying for 6 months to be committed to several different visions, it was resolved to allow everyone to take their ideas and move separately. This challenge birthed a new bountiful company. It’s so important to never give up, but to P.U.S.H (pray until something happens) and to strive for God’s will. The process was necessary to learn so many moving parts of learning a business and the expectations needed to follow through. Because of the travail, we are here today. WearMyTestimony is new, fresh, up, and coming apparel company ready to serve the community. We definitely appreciate the journey and the path of learning.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
WearMyTestimony is a family-owned company. The CEO, Candyce Grant, was born in Lake Providence, Louisiana, and has been an educator for more than 22 years. Being the daughter of a pastor and a school teacher was definitely an interesting combination growing up. As a child, Candyce began singing at the age of 5 and worked in ministry singing and teaching. Today, she continues her love for music by leading worship, serving the youth, writing songs, hosting Let’s Slay Instagram Live focused on Overcoming Daily Giants, ministering to friends and family, and occasionally recording background vocals with a few Grammy Award-winning and nominated Gospel artists, Fred Hammond and Kevin Levar. Earl F. Grant, CFO, is originally from Sacramento, California. Earl has been an entertainer since the age of 2 as his mother recalls his constant beating on pots and pans as his first love. Earl is a musician and loves God, first and foremost. His passion for music has allowed him to work with many Gospel and secular artists, travel abroad, tour in different countries and around the world. His love for ministry keeps the company cemented with new designs and ideas. Last but not least, there are 5 children who give their input and flare to this company. Alexis Grant (11), Braxton Grant (16), Faith Jackson (21), Breyonna Jackson (22), and Brooke Grant (28). They all have various roles from design, marketing, social media, and processing. They all play an important role in this company and in this blended family.

What do you think about happiness?
Enriching the lives of others means happiness; to bring joy to someone who is having a devastating day brings happiness; knowing something that has been said or posted made a difference in the life of one person brings so much happiness to me. Having the opportunity to be a light when I’m struggling brings me happiness, but most importantly, helping someone to overcome brings me happiness.
