Cristina, thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
I have always loved art but it wasn’t until shortly after I started experimenting with resin that I found my true passion, which drove me into the limitless possibilities of resin art.
I began creating wall art inspired in geodes and crystals for myself and soon after friends were begging me to create pieces for them too. Day after day my art got better and better and it motivated me to open an Etsy shop. It took a few months for my shop to take off and when it did it was all thanks to an Emerald Green tray that was a hit and it still a customer’s favorite. I always knew I could create more with resin so I began experimenting with floral preservation. The day I learned a friend was getting married I took the opportunity to ask her if I could preserve her wedding bouquet and she said yes!! Her piece turned our amazing and it helped me promote my bouquet preservation business even further. I will never forger my first bride-customer Yaritza.
Fast-forward to today, what began as a hobby turned into a full-fledged business allowing me to quit my full time job as an IT specialist, which I’d practiced for over 10 years. This business has given me the opportunity to connect with people all over the US by preserving their precious memories. I couldn’t be happier with where life has taken me and I owe it to my customers.
Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?
CM Lux Decor specializes in bridal bouquet preservation and although we also commission geode inspired resin wall art, flower preservation has taken over 90% of our business. We preserve flowers in resin and while we are based in the Dallas, TX, we accept bouquets from all across the U.S. Since 2022 we have been able to bring our passion for floral art to more than 400 brides nationwide. We offer many different shapes and sizes starting with the resin blocks that can be displayed as part of a home’s decor. Additionally flowers can also be converted into functional pieces such as trays and furniture. Bridal bouquet orders can be stressful and sometimes the flowers might arrive wilted or almost dead, but regardless of the condition the flowers arrive, we will always work our magic to make something beautiful to be proud of. Customers only have to worry about shipping the flowers overnight so they arrive within 4-5 days from the wedding; once the flowers are on our hands we take over the stress and creative process of the preservation. As a small business owner I love being able to connect with every customer and getting to know their style. But what I love the most is that every single piece is handmade and uniquely crafted for someone’s special memories. So much hard work goes into every piece we create, with over 20 steps and more than 30 hours spent per bouquet we make sure to deliver the best quality possible by paying close attention to the smallest details. Our goal is to capture our customer’s vision and every little detail as in the wedding photos to create keepsakes that will bring you back to that amazing day. Every piece that comes into our hands is treated as if it was our own, from the moment we receive the fresh flower to the last moment we handle the final preservation for shipping. Our handmade pieces aren’t just pretty flowers in resin to buy; they are one in a lifetime opportunity to cherish a special moment forever.
