Conversations with Carla Douglas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carla Douglas.

Carla Douglas

Hi Carla, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My photography journey started a little after my son turned one. I was interested in all things photography and accepted anything that came my way.

It wasn’t until I did a boudoir session for my mom that I quickly realized that boudoir was something I was very passionate about. As I continued to offer boudoir for beautiful women, I started picking up interested in couple’s boudoir and more intimate photos that didn’t always include sexy posing but more intense, sensual photos.

Today I am known for my couple’s photos mainly because of the connection I bring into my photos. 😀

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
You know it has been a very interesting road. I am very grateful for what boudoir has brought into my life. I am growing and taking on things that have been on my bucket list.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Fort Worth Photographer who specializes in boudoir and intimate couples. I am known for my intimate couples’ work because of how intimate and expressive they are.

I think I am most proud of how far I have come in the last 9 years! The support of my husband, my children, family, and the clients who became longtime friends. I don’t think I could have gotten very far without them always pushing me to keep going, even when times were tough!

I think what sets me apart from other photographers is the connection I have with my clients. The way they always feel so comfortable coming into a session with me and trusting me 95-100% of the time! I also think my editing style sets me apart from most photographers. <3

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success? Hmmmm…I guess I would define success as achieving a healthy work-life balance and finding fulfillment in both professional and personal aspects of life. Maintaining passion and enthusiasm for photography while nurturing relationships, taking care of my well-being, and finding joy in the process rather than solely focusing on external achievements.
