Hi Whitney, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story? 
I own two businesses. My first business venture is Curve-sized boutique Lu x Pauli Apparel Company! I started amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the uncertain times, I embraced the opportunity to bring my passion for fashion and style to life. With determination and adaptability, I launched my boutique, offering a curated collection of Curve-sized clothing that celebrates body positivity and inclusivity. It has been a journey filled with learning, resilience, and the joy of connecting with customers who appreciate my mission. 

My second business is my financial literacy. My journey began when I crossed paths with my mentor, Stephanie. Not only was she an inspiring single mom, but she also introduced me to various streams of income that could be pursued while simultaneously working on repairing my credit. Her guidance and example motivated me to take charge of my financial well-being and set off on a path of credit repair and financial empowerment. 

2 years ago, I made a decision to help others learn financial literacy and achieve their goals and dreams. I worked hard and successfully helped families across the country restore their buying power and purchase new homes, cars, vacations, you name it! 

During the process, I also became a product of the product, and my family has also been blessed! 🙌🏾 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Running a Curve Size Boutique and Financial Literacy business while being a single mom has presented its unique challenges, but it has also been a rewarding journey. Balancing the responsibilities of entrepreneurship and parenthood requires careful time management, prioritization, and support. Despite the obstacles, the experience has allowed me to be more independent, flexible, and empowered in shaping my own financial future while providing for my family. It has been a fulfilling experience that has taught me valuable lessons in resilience, determination, and the importance of seeking support from my loved ones and community. 

As a single mother, I understand that there can be various struggles that arise. Some common challenges faced by single mothers include: 

1. Financial pressures: Being the sole provider for my family can bring financial strain, as I have to manage household expenses, childcare costs, and other financial obligations on my own.

2. Time management: Balancing work, parenting duties, household chores, and personal time can be overwhelming. Finding a balance and ensuring that all aspects of life receive attention can be a constant challenge.

3. Emotional support: Being the primary caregiver can sometimes leave you feeling emotionally drained. It’s important to have a strong support system of friends, family, or other single parents who understand your experiences and can provide encouragement and assistance.

4. Self-care: We as Single mothers often prioritize the needs of their children above our own. Taking care of your physical and mental well-being is crucial but can sometimes be neglected due to a lack of time or resources.

5. Parenting decisions: Making important decisions about my child’s upbringing, education, and well-being without having another partner to share the responsibility can be daunting. Seeking guidance from trusted sources and leaning on my support network can help navigate these choices

Thank you for your interest in learning more about my work. I have the unique privilege of managing two distinct businesses—a curvy boutique and a financial literacy service. In my curvy boutique, I specialize in providing stylish and trendy clothing options specifically tailored for curvier body types, promoting body positivity and inclusivity. 

In the financial literacy business, I assist individuals in improving their credit scores, providing guidance, and implementing strategies to repair and rebuild credit. I take pride in empowering others to take control of their financial well-being and achieve their credit goals. 

What sets me apart is the combination of my expertise in both industries. I have a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with curvier body types and the importance of feeling confident and comfortable in their clothing choices. Simultaneously, my knowledge and experience in financial literacy allow me to provide comprehensive support to clients seeking to enhance their credit profiles. 

I am most proud of the positive impact I have had on my clients’ lives. Witnessing individuals regain their financial stability and confidence or seeing someone find joy and empowerment through embracing their body and personal style, brings me immense satisfaction. 

Ultimately, my commitment to providing exceptional customer service, fostering inclusivity, and offering expertise in both the fashion and credit repair realms sets me apart. I believe in the power of transformation, both in personal style and financial well-being, and I am dedicated to helping others achieve their goals in these areas. 

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
In both my curve boutique (Lu x Pauli apparel company) and financial literacy (Lu x Pauli consulting) business, I believe that the most important quality for success is empathy. 

Empathy allows me to deeply understand and connect with my client’s needs and challenges. In the Curve boutique, it helps me create a welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals of all body types feel valued and confident. Understanding the unique struggles and desires of curvier individuals allows me to curate a collection that addresses their specific fashion needs. 

In the financial literacy business, empathy enables me to approach each client’s situation with compassion and understanding. It allows me to listen attentively, identify their financial struggles, and provide tailored guidance and solutions. Empathy helps me build trust and rapport with clients, fostering a supportive environment where they feel comfortable discussing their financial concerns and goals. 

By demonstrating empathy, I can genuinely connect with people, provide personalized support, and make a positive impact on their lives. It allows me to go beyond providing products or services and truly understand and address the underlying needs of individuals. Ultimately, empathy is a cornerstone of my success in both businesses as it creates meaningful connections and fosters trust with my clients.
