“Today we would like to introduce you to Sara Bannat and the Dallas Book Tribe
The Dallas Book Tribe was established in January 2022 by Sara Bannat. She struggled building and maintaining genuine relationships with other women while working full-time and being a mother. Through this organization, Sara aimed to bring together a community of women who could mutually empower, inspire, and motivate each other to achieve personal and professional growth by combining their networks and resources and their love for reading. Together, they succeeded in promoting positivity, nurturing a greater sense of community, challenging societal work-life constraints, and enhancing nature’s appreciation, all leading to an improved quality of life.
As of January 2023, Sara has taken a significant step in consolidating her efforts into a women-led nonprofit. Our approach involves connecting with small business owners, advocating for environmentally friendly practices, conducting wellness classes, and organizing workshops for personal growth. Our shared objective is to expand book access in all communities, promote literacy, foster a stronger sense of community, and contribute to reforestation efforts. We strive to make the world a better place, one book, one tree, and one bond at a time.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Our community has shown us immense love and support, and as a result, our tribe is expanding rapidly each day. This growth has led us to explore the possibility of acquiring or leasing a property that can accommodate all of us. We envision a house that brims with diverse rooms, fostering an environment where our tribe can collaborate, garden, dine, innovate, and engage in physical activities collectively. This safe haven will empower women of all walks to express their most authentic selves and reach their fullest potential. With our ambitious mission, we are in search of additional volunteers and sponsors who align with our vision and are eager to contribute, enabling us to create a more substantial global influence
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We have a board of directors who is committedly working towards our vision. One way we plan to achieve our goals is by installing mini mobile libraries (MML) across the nation like the take- one-leave-one concept. Our sponsors with get their logo placed on it along with a link to their business on our website map directory. In this manner, we assist business owners and establishments including multi-unit properties, medical practices, and places of worship such as churches and mosques in cultivating a stronger community bond by engaging in the act of reading physical books. Moreover, we aim to enhance brand recognition for businesses through this endeavor.
We realized there is such a high demand for what we do. Everyone wants to feel like they are a part of something, and what they have to contribute matters. The Dallas Book Tribe is more than just a book club. We envision a world where positivity, community, and nature are at the forefront of every aspect of life. Our tribe has worked tirelessly to promote these values, challenge societal constraints, and foster an appreciation for the environment, ultimately leading to an improved quality of life for all. We feel a deep sense of fulfillment and gratitude as we continue to make positive impact on the lives of women around us and the communities we serve.
