Today we’d like to introduce you to PK7.
Hi PK7, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up around music and all types of art. My mom sang in a choir, so did my big brother, which is a significant reason why I make music today. I was mesmerized by the ways beats were made, how auto-tune & reverb works I was infatuated with music before I even fully knew myself. It’s just always been something I was into, my first song I ever recorded was actually with my brother and my pops. I was only nine years old,, and we did a remix cover of the song Bedrock by Young Money; maybe one day I’ll release it. But until then, expect more videos, visuals, interviews, features, everything. Expect to see PK7 Global real soon.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Just like any career or business, you will have hiccups along the road. Have people who halfway support you all sorts of things, but to answer your question. No, but I’m embrace the struggle; I embrace every step of this creative journey. I know all of the greats, if not a lot that I admire, had a few bumps and bruises along the way. I don’t feel like I’m perfect, but I take my time with my craft & any bumps on the road are cause of me.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I make a sub-genre of rap, I like to call “Pretty Boy Rap” or “Sex Rap” It’s not aggressive; it’s not violent; it’s a great median between being “turnt up” and rapping/singing about a beautiful lady. I’m mostly known for my smooth flows, bouncing with the beat, and really spilling my pimping with punchlines and catchphrases that are popular and been popular. What sets me apart from others is my authenticity. You’ll never catch me trying to be like someone else & the honesty and vulnerability I put in my music makes you really feel like you know my story. On top of recording myself, song writing, producing, rapping, and singing, I make cover art as well.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite child memory will probably have to be my 10th birthday; it was a surprise birthday organized by my immediate family. After school, my brother I mentioned earlier dragged me along to the neighborhood arcade, which I didn’t want to do at first but eventually started having fun, but the real surprise was when he took me home, and I had new WWE action figures, a new basketball hoop, and more. I miss being a kid haha.
