Hi Isabella, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was a Junior at Southern Methodist University in Dallas when the idea for IKD Active came to me. With a deep-rooted passion for both fitness and fashion, I aspired to transform this enthusiasm into a tangible product that could be used by women across the United States.
Following my graduation from SMU, I wasted no time and launched IKD Active just a week after the graduation ceremony. The journey to bring this vision to life involved over a year of hard work, from crafting the perfect designs to sourcing fabric with hyper-flex abilities and sweat-stain resistance. Despite the challenges and overwhelm, the joy of holding and wearing clothing with my initials and seeing other women wearing my creations makes every moment worthwhile.
As we mark the two-month milestone since our launch, I am ecstatic about the thousands of dollars in sales already achieved, and I eagerly anticipate the future growth and success of IKD Active. My unwavering passion for fitness and fashion became the driving force behind the birth of IKD Active. Combining these two elements, I set out on a mission to create clothing that would empower women to embrace an active lifestyle while looking stylish and confident. I wanted to ensure that our activewear maintained its quality and appearance even during intense exercise sessions.
The efforts invested in the creation of IKD Active have been immensely rewarding. As the brand takes off, the joy of seeing my initials on each garment and witnessing other women embrace and enjoy my designs fills me with a sense of accomplishment and pride. I am confident that IKD Active will thrive and empower women to lead active, stylish lives.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
During the creation of my active line, I faced several struggles, particularly with material changes and the way certain styles looked on fit models. It wasn’t an easy journey, and there were times when sourcing the right fabric and getting the fabric to lay properly on the body seemed like a challenge. Despite these obstacles, I remained committed to my vision and the high standards I had set in my mind for IKD Active and was able to source the perfect fabrics and manufacturer for my vision.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a full-time lifestyle and wellness influencer. On TikTok, I have a following of over 200,000 dedicated followers who engage with my content regularly. Likewise, on Instagram, my influence extends to over 100,000 followers who actively participate in my journey towards wellness and lifestyle content. As an influencer, I take pride in promoting positive lifestyle choices, offering valuable wellness tips, advice, fitness routines, and inspiring my audience to live their best lives.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Relatability and drive. I think I am extremely relatable and am a young woman who had an idea and was able to transpire it into a reality. I think I am a good example and hope for women that they can achieve anything they want to, even at a young age. I also credit IKD Active coming to life due to my drive and passion for fitness.
