Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriela Cruz.
Hi Gabriela, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
My journey started in 2016, I was working for a big waxing chain for many years as a wax specialist and was doing makeup on the side for special events. After covid, I decided to quit my job to pursue my dream in running my own business. It was definitely one of the biggest challenges I ever faced in my life, but I knew I had to take the risk if not, I would always wonder and regret it later on. Now I am 2 years in I can say it was the best decision I ever made!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely was not an easy road, but nothing in life is unless you work hard to achieve your goals! Trust me, I have had several days of sleepless nights wondering if all this stress was worth it. But I had to change the way I was thinking and look at it in a more positive light. Then the more I kept staying motivated and committed to my craft, great things kept coming my way. It has become a major blessing to run my own business and give back to the ones that got me here.

Here at Bare by GC, I specialize in female full-body waxing while empowering women in feeling confident in their own skin. I dedicate my time in making sure you are comfortable & achieve a smooth waxing experience! I also offer brow treatments, which include brow shaping, tinting, and laminations. I make sure to achieve the look my client is looking for, and that compliments them as well. I also provide a safe and cozy environment for my clients making sure they are well taken care of during their service.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
The first person would have to be my husband. Since day one, he has always supported my dreams and motivated me when I felt like I was way over my head. I remember when I was contemplating on going back to school because I did not know if I was financially able to. He would make sure I made that happen by always being my number-one supporter throughout my journey. I also would have not of done this without the support of my family. They taught me the value of putting in hard work in accomplishing our dreams no matter what it is. Huge shout out to my business partner Kelley, @q.utenails, for joining me in this journey of being new business owners. I have learned so much from you every step of the way. I cannot wait to see what the further holds for us!
