Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Osuorji.
Hi Sarah, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thank you for having me. I am a Fort Worth native, proud mom, and a speech therapist who has always had a creative bone. I bought an embroidery machine to leisurely monogram clothes for my kids. Who doesn’t love a cute monogram? As a mom to three little ones, my life is chaos (in the best way), and embroidery was a fun, creative outlet. During the ice storm earlier this year, my family and I were cooped up all week, so I decided to pick up a cocktail napkin to test out some designs. While I intended to focus on clothing, I embroidered a new napkin every day posted the finished products on social media, and by the end of the week, I had friends (and friends of friends) asking me to create custom sets for them. I knew then that this creative outlet had potential to grow into something more than a hobby. I’m still working on bringing the best balance to mommying, work, and this new venture – but it’s been a thrill to take the leap and go for it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running my embroidery business has been a rewarding journey, but like any endeavor, it hasn’t been without its challenges. One of the initial struggles I faced was balancing my various roles as a mom, a speech-language pathologist, and now a business owner. It often requires careful time management and sometimes means working late into the night to meet deadlines.
Nonetheless, this experience has taught me valuable lessons in time management, multitasking, and prioritization. It’s also allowed me to set a positive example for my children, showing them the importance of hard work and pursuing one’s passions.
So, while it hasn’t always been a smooth road, these challenges have made me more resilient and resourceful, both as a business owner and a parent.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Heartstrings Theory?

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I absolutely love Fort Worth, and what I appreciate most about this awesome city is its unique blend of big-city amenities and a warm, small-town feel. Growing up here and having my family and friends close by is truly special, especially as I raise my own family. From the rich Western heritage to the world-class museums to local art festivals and college sporting events, there is always something to do! The Fort Worth Zoo is also a big favorite in our house. The city is definitely growing, and I am excited to witness its ongoing transformation, fostering diversity and creating even more opportunities.
While Fort Worth will always be home, I am not a fan of the summer heat, and I’m really hoping for more diverse range of food options as the city continues to grow.
