Check Out Samantha Lopez’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Lopez.

Samantha Lopez

Hi Samantha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
My pops introduced me to steak and changed my tastebuds immediately at a very young age when he came into my life. He showed me how to prepare and cook many other foods properly. Growing up in a food-centered household I found many was to substitute ingredients that I could not afford to try new dishes and make them into my own. I lived on the Food Network show “Chopped.” Pretending I was on the show in my kitchen, falling in love with the process, the plating, and the species. Food is an art, paying very close attention to detail is a must. Hearing different taste perceptions from my friends and family motivated me to turn my passion into selling plates from home. I’m eager to continue to learn new techniques that will help me fulfill my dreams!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Some days are very good, and others very slow. The end result makes it worthwhile. As well as the feedback makes my heart super happy! Reminding myself why I started and to continue to have fun with it! Mind over matter you can be your worst enemy, doubting yourself worrying if anyone will support your business. Especially friends and family. Just like there are people rooting for you there are others waiting for your downfall. Not everyone will be happy about your success, but they cannot stop what God has in store for you! You are enough; clap for yourself, celebrate yourself, keep working hard, keep making mistakes, and keep being you!

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Soul by Sammie is a fusion; nothing that I make is traditional. There is always a twist! I sell food on Fridays. Every Friday is a Good Friday! I’m most proud of starting and not looking back, never in a million years did I think that I would be selling food today & for that, I am super grateful! Food is my love language. It’s not about the money; it’s about feeding your body and soul. I believe in energy transfer. If you have a bad attitude, you will taste that in the food you make. What’s missing? The love! Food is like a baby you have to handle it with patience & love.
