Today we’d like to introduce you to Alyse Roller.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started doing photography once I realized I wasn’t happy with an every day Monday through Friday schedule, I love working on my time. I’ve always maintained my phlebotomist career, but photography is where I’m happiest when I’m behind my camera, so although I still have a 9-5 as a backup to make sure that I can pay my bills. Photography is where I shine. As a Gemini, I’m always all over the place that Photography gives me organization in my chaos.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I am a self-taught photographer so along the way, I’ve had ups and downs, learning how to shoot and edit. I started to step outside the box and challenge myself even if it was a bumpy road, I chose to push myself with each session or each gallery, trying to be better every time. I’ve had moments where I just wanna give up, and then I realize how much I’ve pushed through in the last six years of being a Photographer. The growth is always needed.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a photographer, and I love doing Photography. I don’t normally turn down any session in fact I love a challenge. I absolutely love doing maternity sessions. That would be my favorite thing I could say at weddings. I think my Editing as a self-taught photographer sets me aside, even though I continue to learn. I enjoy getting to learn every step of the way.
What matters most to you? Why?
My children is what matters the most to me. They are the reason I started Photography to spend more time with them and be able to enjoy them growing up because you miss so much when working in a schedule work environment.
