Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonio Martinez.
Hi Antonio, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
How I started my story was I use to work for a company minimum wage $7.25 cleaning stores out. I was tired of that life, that type of money. I had recently moved from Chicago, IL where I was working for another company cleaning windows. I always had a vision of becoming my own boss but for so many years I was too scared to take a risk. As soon as I decided to leave the minimum wage job, I went my own way and decided to take the risk to work for myself. How I started was with a bucket of water, a Squeegee, a mop, and a broomstick going from different commercial stores, restaurants, banks, spa offering my service. I was charging $5-$10 per store cleaning windows. My first big job was Asian Times Square it all started with dropping off business card when Asian Times Square was under construction. Everything was going well. I kept promoting myself started growing little by little. I received my second big job for different loans locations when it was time for payment, that’s when the obstacles begin. They started asking for our registration, w9, and insurance at this point I didn’t know I needed all those documents since I been going from store to store getting paid with no problem so since I didn’t have none of that I didn’t get paid at all! But you live and you learn, but that right there just motivated me, even more, to go register my company & that’s when Windows Wash professional service started. A few weeks later another big company contacted us & asked us for our paperwork but gladly I learned my lesson from my previous experience and was able to take that job with no problem! We started getting recommendations with big companies like racetracks, mi cocina, Greystar, and plenty more since 2013-Today we had grew so much thanks to the lord!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The struggle along the way was register myself with the city, learn how to speak English because all I knew was Spanish.

Success for me is seeing my wife and daughters happy because I finally gave them the life that they deserve thanks to taking that leap of faith of becoming my own boss.
